How long will each fireplace video play?Each of the nine different fire modes can be set to loop continuously. What's even better is that you can set it to loop with the same music track, or to choose random audio tracks. This is very useful for spicing up your next swankfest.
Music is great, but can I just hear the sounds of the fire?
Of course. And on this new version of our fireplace DVD, you can pick the sounds of an inside fire or a campfire. Both are available in 5.1 surround sound. You can also listen to a mix of both music and the fire sounds.
Do you have Christmas/Holiday music?
Yes. In fact, we have 45 minutes of holiday music on this new version of our fireplace DVD. Some of the songs included are:

I don't live in the United States. Will your fireplace DVD work in my country?
Oui! All of our DVDs are region free. That means that they'll play in any DVD player regardless of region encoding.

Q: Sir, I live in the UK (PAL system) - Does your fireplace DVD work on a PAL system & does it play on a standard 5.1 system? - Some suppliers of Aquarium DVDs are HD on one side & standard DVD the other
A: While Vat19 DVDs are in the NTSC format, most modern DVD players can support both formats. We sell to European customers on a regular basis (including the UK), and none have had any problems playing their fireplace DVDs. For now, we offer only the standard format, but there are plans to offer a separate Blu Ray title in the future.
Q: How long do the recordings play before looping?
A: Several of the fireplaces are 35 minutes long and several are 10 minutes long. There's a complete listing under the "Includes 190 minutes of red-hot fireplace video action" header.
Q: will this burn into my plasma television?
A: No. While the Ambient Fire video fireplace allows you to watch the same scene in loop mode, there is rarely any part of the image that stays exactly the same throughout the entire scene. You can read more about burn-in and its prevention in our FAQ section (accessible at the bottom of any page).
Q: Can I watch the DVD with no sound?
A: Sure. We suggest using the mute button on your tv.
Q: Who was the poor fellow who got the pleasure of recording...a fireplace?
A: His nickname is General Beauregard and he's now an officer in the United States Army. He commands tanks because, as he so eloquently put it, "I wanted to make big fire go bang."

Q: What about my plasma burn in? Will this rotate the screen shots quick enough to stop plasma burn in?
A: Plasma burn-in isn't much of an issue with TVs that have been manufactured in the past 3-4 years. If you have an older plasma, you still don't need to worry. When a scene loops, it dips to black before repeating. Also, there is constant movement throughout the entire screen due to the movement of the flames. Burn-in is common on TVs where part of the image never changes -- such as airline schedules where a logo is always perched in a corner.
Q: I cant get my fireplace video to fill the whole screen. help
A: Please visit our videos page (click 'The Videos' at the top of our web page) and then scroll down to the bottom. There is a video entitled "Full-Screen DVD playback (setting up your player):". Click on this link for an explanation.
Q: Do you have a VCR version?
A: No. The Ambient Fire DVD Fireplace is only available in DVD format.
Q: Can I play my own music?
A: If your home theater system is setup to use one source for audio and a different source for video, then yes, you can play your own music. Another way to do this would be to mute your TV and use a portable iPod speaker system to play the music of your choice. And don't forget that you can play "just fire sounds" on the Ambient Fire DVD. This allows you to have the ambience of the fireplace video with the music of your choice.

A: You probably shouldn't tell so many stories. Didn't you ever read about Pinocchio?
Q: Do you have a tape on aquariums?
A: If you're looking for an aquarium DVD, check out Ambient Water. We don't have a VHS version, though.
Q: How about Japan . Will your DVD work here ? And will it work on my large LDC Sharp TV ? AK.57 in Tokyo .
A: If you have an NTSC DVD player, you won't have any problems. If you're using the NTSC-J format, you may experience some differences in brightness, but that can be adjusted on your television.

Q: do you have a blue ray version of your video fireplace dvd?
A: Currently, we do not have a BluRay version of Ambient Fire.
Q: I just got my dvd, and i just wanted to listen to the fire sound. When i put it on fire sound it keeps taking me back to the fire scenes. why can't i just hear the fire sound.
A: After you select the fireplace scene you want to watch, you will then be able to make your audio choice. After making an audio choice, the scene you previously selected will play. If you are looking for fire sounds and do not want the video fireplaces, we recommend buying our Ambient Flames Audio CD.
Q: If I purchased this DVD would I be able to copy onto a USB drive which I can then plug straight into my TV. How many gigabytes is it? I am assuming that this might be a better quality-my DVD is notHD
A: In order to copy the audio and video contents of the DVD onto a USB drive, you would have to break the copy protection on the DVD. We don't recommend doing this. However, any newer DVD player that supports upsampling to HD will provide a great picture on HD TVs.

A: Yes, all of our DVDs, which are standard DVDs, will play in any DVD player, including a Blu-Ray player.
Q: Aren't some DVDs for NTSC video and some for PAL video? If your DVDs are for the U.S., I don't think they will work in Europe.
A: You are correct that the US uses a video format called NTSC and that most of Europe uses a format called PAL. Our DVDs are NTSC. That doesn't mean, however, that they won't play in European DVD players. Most DVD players and TVs sold in Europe are multi-standard and are capable of playing both PAL and NTSC content. We've sold our DVDs to every European country without issue.
Q: I don't have HD so will the picture on my TV still be clear?
A: Absolutely. The Ambient Fire DVD will look crystal clear on any TV.
Q: Can I use this with a powerpoint presentation and project it on a screen and it look right?
A: Put an empty button on the Slide Master and give it an Action Setting with a hyperlink to your default DVD player, such as Windows Media Player. The DVD disc must be in the drive and the DVD player must be launched during your PowerPoint presentation.
Q: Will this work with any DVD player?
A: Yes, Ambient Fire can play with regular DVD players and Blu-ray DVD players. It is also region free so it can play in any country, regardless of region encoding.
Q: is this video fireplace available in VHS format?
A: No. The Ambient Fire video fireplace is only available in DVD format.
