Curiously Awful Product - Creepy Tire Swings

Every once in a while, you come across a product that's so out of tune with most its prospective customers that you have to wonder if it was ever meant for them in the first place. That's how we feel about these animal-shaped tire swings.

The swings themselves look like they'd be more at home in the dark walls of a basement dungeon than under the sunny skies of the backyard playground. They've managed to take an entirely wholesome childhood activity, swinging in a tire swing, and turn it into a storybook fantasy gone terribly, terribly wrong.

Perhaps it's just the lack of color that bothers us, but don't expect to see these swings for sale on Vat19.com anytime soon. Especially not the "Horse With Mane".

These are fantastic. We bought one for our 4 year old son and he loves it!

I could see a kid getting their head caught and strangle/hanging themselves on some of those narrow bands. Signed: an overprotective parent.

I like these unique tire swings, here's to recycled and different. Of course they aren't multi colored they're TIRES!!!

Alas we have no tree and no small children so I have no reason to buy one..

Uh-oh! I have to admit to liking them! Saw one similar to the "horse with mane" on sale at a Christmas fare here in the UK and it was twice the price - probably would have made a purchase at US prices. Still, it would be a dull old world if we all had the same likes and dislikes. Happy 2008 to you all.
