Nana Saver banana saver.jpg

When was the last time in your adult life that you thought "Oh no, I can't possibly finish this banana. I cannot waste it and I wish I had a protective clip that looked like a weird beak so I could save it for later". If you've actually had that exact thought, then I am in the wrong career and should be a psychic.

The Nana Saver is a little plastic cap/clip that keeps a half-eaten banana fresh. I can't vouch for how "fresh", seeing as I'm not cool enough to have tested the Nana Saver out. In my opinion, unless you are a small child, you should be able to finish off an entire banana in one sitting. I'm not trying to encourage people to eat more than they should, but come on, saving half of a banana? Ludicrous. You should have 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables a day, according to the USDA Food Guide Pyramid, so eat up the rest of that banana.

Even funnier is that you have to make the decision ahead of time that you are only going to eat half of the banana since you have to leave the peel intact. Premeditated wussiness.

For those of you who enjoy eating bananas (whole bananas), may I recommend the Banana Bunker? There's no slicing or saving involved. It simply protects your banana wherever you decide you need to bring a banana along. If you don't eat the entire banana, don't even think about putting it back in the Banana Bunker, as its exposed end will certainly get brown and gross. The Banana Bunker is not suited for those who can't handle a banana in its entirety.

As you can see, the Banana Bunker has a very mature style. (Oh please, like you didn't already think something dirty about its ribbing and the word "banana".)

Obviously, the Banana Bunker is much cooler than the Nana Saver and also serves a better function. Plus, the Nana Saver folks didn't make a video of someone playing the drums with bananas while wearing a Viking helmet now did they?

A lot of the customer feedback here at Vat19 makes us smile, but it never makes us laugh out loud. Until this one.

It looks like this kind lady ordered a Charging Station through our Amazon storefront. The product is designed to organize, charge, and store personal items like cell phones, mp3 players, keys, and wallets. It's actually quite handy.

As for her feedback...we'll let that speak for itself. For those of you who aren't totally in the know, you may need to reference this Urban Dictionary link to figure out what the heck we're laughing about.

We usually don't blatantly promote our products on our blog, but we are so excited about the Doodlebook Picture Frame we couldn't help it. It is a unique gift, but you'll probably also want one for yourself!

The Doodlebook is a 4x6 picture frame that has an 80-page notebook where the frame would be. If you want to create a new "frame", simply tear off the top sheet and start a new one! Decorating possibilities are endless with the Doodlebook, but here's a few ideas to get you started. After all, you've got room for 80 ideas!

  • Doodle, of course!
  • Label who is in the photo and where it was taken.
  • Write quotes, poetry, or song lyrics.
  • Play games, such as Tic-Tac-Toe or Hangman.
  • Leave love notes.
  • Write reminders or To Do lists.
  • Create a flip book. Flip books are awesome, so it'll be well worth the work.
  • Want to make fun of a bad photo? Let the frame say it.
  • Invite your guests to draw or write. Don't allow lame things you'd see on a bathroom stall like "Beth was here".
  • Take down phone messages. Just make sure you remember to tell the receiver to check the frame!
  • Let the kids color on it and give as a gift for Mom, Dad, Grandma, or Grandpa. If your kids can't contain their masterpieces to a frame, you might want to get them a larger Art Cabinet for display.
  • Solve math equations, geek.
  • Write down the website from an infomercial.
  • Let the kids decorate with stickers. What kid doesn't loooove stickers?
