This DVD is formatted for all types of TVs

This Ambient DVD is designed to always fill the entire screen on all types of TVs.

The whole point of many Ambient DVDs is to provide a window into another world. For instance, Ambient Water is designed to turn your TV into an aquarium.

The whole experience just doesn't work if there are black bars on the top and bottom of your screen. What kind of aquarium looks like that, right? So, for that very reason, we've gone to great lengths to ensure that this DVD will always fill your entire TV screen no matter what type of TV you own.

So, how does the DVD know what type of television I have?

It doesn't. So, depending on your type of TV and how your DVD player is setup, you may have dig into the setup options of your DVD player to ensure that your Ambient DVD fills the entire screen.

In order to fill the screen on a 16x9 TV, is the image stretched?

It depends on the Ambient DVD and sometimes it depends on the scene within that DVD. In some scenes where the footage is more abstract and a little stretching won't ruin the overall feel of the scene, we've used stretching. In scenes such as fireplaces or aquariums, we do not stretch the image. A widescreen or 16x9 television simply sees more of the image than would be available on a 4x3 TV.
