The FlareAlert Magnetic LED Safety Flare is the best all-around safety flare we've encountered. While the magnetic base makes it ideal for automobile use, we can see its usefulness for camping, boating, hiking, and biking. It features 12 super-bright LEDs that can be set to flash or remain on.
Our favorite feature is the presence of thumb screws on the recessed battery compartment, since they make it so easy to install the emergency flare's batteries (not included).
Safe, reliable, and weather resistant LED safety flare
Instead of carrying traditional emergency flares (what we like to call nuclear-powered sparklers), you should keep some sort of LED-based flare in your car. Whether it be the Flameless Flare or the FlareAlert Magnetic LED Safety Flare, you owe it to yourself to keep a few of these in the glove compartment or trunk of all of your cars.
What we like about this particular emergency flare is the strong magnetic base, easy-to-install batteries (not included), and its compact design. It also features 12 super-bright LEDs. This safety flare can be seen for miles and is weather resistant.

A few customer questions we've answered
Q: Would you consider selling these in pairs, they'd make great pasties! A: You're always welcome to purchase more than one Safety Flare, but we can't assume that everyone would have such an unorthodox purpose in mind. Therefore, we'll continue to sell them in single packs with the option to purchase additional units. We'd also like to note that the FlareAlert Magnetic safety flare is moderately weighty, and is approximately the size of a small pancake. Stay safe!
Q: A standard traditional flare emits roughly 70 candela. How does the light output of a FlareAlert Magnetic LED Safety Flare compare? A: During daylight, no LED flare can match the light output of a 5,000 degree flame of a traditional flare. However, the LED flare is safer to use and can also be reused. We have contacted the manufacturer and they do not have a rating of the output of the LEDs used for the FlareAlert Magnetic Safety Flare. So, as an attempt to get some sort of reading, we decided to use a light meter. Placed directly in front of the FlareAlert, the light meter shows a reading of 120 foot candles. Hope that helps!
Q: Why do you sell this AND the flameless flare? A: The FlareAlert Magnetic Safety Flare and the Flameless Flare are both outstanding products, but the FlareAlert has more LEDs and is slightly brighter. It's also more expensive, so the decision is yours - spend more and get a slightly brighter light, or spend less and get a light that's still pretty darn bright.
Q: How bright is the light in comparison to a police vehicle light? A: The Flare Alert Magnetic Safety Flare's light output is definitely not as bright as the lights on a police car. However, it's bright enough to warn passing motorists of your location, even during the day. It's also significantly cheaper than professional grade police lights, though, so we figure that makes up for it.
Q: Is it illegal to use this to imitate the police? A: It's probably illegal to ever imitate a police offer, but I don't think the FlareAlert Magnetic Safety Flare is going to trick anyone into thinking you're the police.
Q: Do you have magnetic Safety Flares that come in a yellow plastic case 4 yellow and 2 red flares with the batteries? A: The only safety flares we carry are these and the smaller red candle-style flameless flares.
