Yes, the battery is included! Considering that the D-Cell battery represents half of the "Battery Lamp" equation, it wouldn't be very nice of us if the battery weren't included.

The soft, golden illumination is provided by a super bright LED which will never need to be replaced. One 1.5 Volt D-Cell battery can power the lamp for 600 hours. Simply pull the chain to turn your little battery lamp on and off.

Just a battery and a lamp...

This mini lamp is the perfect desktop companion due to its small size and clever design. The lamp shade produces a soft, golden glow of light that is quite pleasing. And with the pull-chain, it's easy to turn on and off. Of course, each D-battery (one is included) provides 600 hours of illumination, so it's really not a big deal if you left it on all night.

The Battery Lamp is just a battery...and a lamp...with a chain. 'Nuff said.

Yeppers. It won't do your taxes, fold your laundry, feed the dog, buy the groceries, or take out the trash. But, it will provide illumination where before there was only darkness. Kind of a big deal, actually, if you think about it. I doubt when Promethius brought fire to man that they responded, "Ehh, just put that somewhere over there. I'm busy banging this rock into another rock." The moral of this story? I'm not sure there is one...other than that the Battery Lamp is a nifty little gadget that is as simple as it is elegant. Oh, wait, I remember the moral of the story now. Buy, buy, buy!
