Set the alarm just by talking

Moshi is probably the most user-friendly alarm clock ever made. To operate it, you simply speak commands. Need to set the time? Tell Moshi, "Set Time" and when prompted, simply speak the current time.

Setting the alarm is just as easy. Just tell Moshi what time to set the alarm and you're all done. No more messing around with switches, buttons, or complicated setup procedures just to set your alarm.

To operate, simply tell Moshi what you want it to do.

Responds to twelve voice commands

To initiate communication with Moshi, simply say, "Hello Moshi". Moshi will respond, "Command Please". At this point, you can use any of the twelve commands.

Moshi's voice recognition works best in quiet environments. However, we have been able to set the time accurately even with loud music playing.

Easy-to-read display

There's nothing worse than an alarm clock with a puny display. Thankfully, the Moshi Alarm Clock will not disappoint in that department. Its screen is large (approximately 6" across and 2.75" tall) and the numbers are big and easy-to-read.

If you like being able to check the time in the middle of the night, you can set Moshi to "Night Light" mode. In this mode, Moshi can either cycle continuously through its array of colors (light blue, red, green, and dark blue) or you can select a single color.

Moshi Alarm Clock has a large backlit display
Moshi's large, backlit display is essential for reading the time in the middle of the night.

Includes soothing sleep sounds for those restless nights

If you're having a little trouble getting to sleep, Moshi can help you out. Simply issue the "Play Sleep Sound" command and Moshi will play five minutes of your pre-selected sleep sound. You can use the "Sleep Sound" command to choose between the following three nature sounds:

  1. Stream of Water
  2. Chirping Birds
  3. Waterfall

Moshi Voice Activated Alarm Clock also plays nature sounds.
If you're having difficulty sleeping, Moshi can help by playing three different nature sound loops.

Uses either batteries or a wall outlet

The Moshi Alarm Clock can be powered either by 3 AAA batteries (not included) or via the included AC adapter. The AAA batteries are great for preserving the time if your power goes out. You do not need to use batteries, though. Moshi will operate just fine with the included AC adapter.

The AC adapter's slim design, thankfully, only covers one outlet on your surge protector or wall plate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: How does Moshi know that I'm talking to it?

Answer: To initiate communication, you must first say, "Hello, Moshi". Moshi will then say, "Command Please". At this point, you can give Moshi your command.

Question: Can I initiate communication without saying, "Hello, Moshi" every time?

Answer: Yes, if you set Moshi to "manual mode", it will only accept voice commands after you push back the display. Imagine the display as a large toggle switch.

Question: How good is its voice recognition?

Answer: Excellent. It responds to voices of all ages and does an excellent job in fairly noisy conditions, although we recommend using Moshi in relative quiet.

Question: I noticed there isn't a "Set Date" command. Why?

Answer: You must set the date manually using the buttons on the back of Moshi. Moshi is clever enough to determine the day of the week based upon the date you enter.

Question: Does Moshi have a way of preserving the current time if power goes out?

Answer: Yes. Moshi can be powered using 3 AAA batteries (not included and not necessary for operation). However, since setting the time is so easy with Moshi, we don't think this is as essential as with other, more complicated alarm clocks.

Question: Can I adjust the volume of Moshi's voice?

Answer: Yes. Moshi features a volume control.

A: If Moshi is plugged into an AC adapter, Moshi will draw power from the batteries in emergency situations only (i.e. the power goes out). So, the batteries should last you a good long time. If you are running Moshi on batteries alone (without an AC adapter), you can expect the batteries to last 6 months to 1 year.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: When you set Moshi's alarm, does the alarm activate every day until you turn it off, or do you need to re-set the alarm every day that you want it to activate?

Q: You say I need an adaptor for UK but you didnt tell me if I could put 240v into it.Some "supplied" adaptors can handle both 230 and 110 currents.not the 2pin to 3pin adaptor I will have to get.

Q: how do I stop the snooze feature from repeating without it going though entire cycle every morning
A: The snooze mode is activated one of two ways. When the alarm goes off, you can gently push the display to activate the 9-minute snooze mode. Or, if the alarm sounds for a full minute without the display being pushed or without being commanded to "Turn off the alarm", Moshi will automatically enter a 9-minute snooze mode. In this instance, the snooze will only be activated three times before automatically shutting off for the day. If the alarm sounds in the morning and you tell Moshi to "Turn off the alarm", the snooze feature will not be activated.

A: Of course not. And actually, it will only be a matter of time before your loved one starts talking to Moshi, too.

Q: Is there multiple alarms or can you only set one alarm?
A: This is not a dual alarm clock, so you are only able to set one alarm. You can choose from a variety of alarm sounds, however.

Q: How long do the 3xAAA batteries last, on average? Can I use alkaline batteries with Moshi?
A: Moshi actually prefers alkaline batteries, and they are often used just as a backup for power outages. However, if Moshi is running on batteries alone, without being plugged into an AC outlet (an AC adapter is included) and always "listening" for your command, Moshi will last about one month.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: How tall are the numbers on the Display? I am pretty blind at night when I don't have glasses on my face, and NO I am not going to sleep in my glasses just to use this clock.
A: The numbers are quite large at slightly over 2" tall. This is a big (pun intended) reason why we love Moshi.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Does Moshi get easily confused between similar sounding words such as fifteen and fifty? Also, can you say "Hey Moshi," or just "Moshi" to activate it, or does it strictly have to be "Hello Moshi?"
A: When talking to Moshi, you should speak clearly. During our tests, there wasn't any confusion between numbers. You have to say "Hello Moshi". Variations such as "Hey Moshi", "Hi Moshi", or "Waddup, Moshi" will not activate it.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Does it break if you drop it on the floor on accident?
A: We can't really give a definite answer to this. It would depend on how far it fell and what kind of surface it landed on. While the Moshi Alarm Clock is well crafted, it should not be dropped.
