Epicure Cheryl Blevins hosts this four-part cooking "how-to" featuring 20 recipes incorporating more than a dozen "aphrodisiac" ingredients, including asparagus, figs, basil, and grapes.

"On the Lighter Side" offers recipes for artichokes with three homemade dipping sauces (roasted garlic, goat cheese and sun-dried tomato, and honey mustard), and sautéed oysters with green pea puree;

"A Ripe Red Strawberry Evening" combines a shrimp, strawberry, avocado, and papaya salad with a chocolate soufflé;

"A Full Day of Romance" whips up everything from prosciutto crisps to pork tenderloin to fig and olive tapenade and white chocolate mousse; and "Just for Two: A Sensual Dinner" starts with honey-baked brie and ends with a Mexican hot chocolate.

The New Age-y music and Blevins' breathy description aside (of the "curvaceous shape" of pears, the fact that "the first ingredient in everything we made today was love," etc.), this is an excellent program for romantics and aspiring chefs alike.

DVD extras include text recipes, "Aphrodisiac 101" info segments, "Luscious Libations" on wine pairings and instructions on six mixed drinks, and seven segments entitled "Quickie Cooking Tips."
