Q: How strong is the aluminum frame? I have seen other umbrellas with a fiberglass frame and was wondering which would be more durable against strong winds.
A: The aluminum frame is incredibly strong and durable. However, what makes the Portabrella most effective against strong winds is its wind vents as well as its self-anchoring pole which goes one foot into the sand. These factors prevent tipping during strong wind.

Q: if its 24''long isn't it 24'' x 2 = a 48'' beach umbrella ? cant see the unfolding in the video
A: The Portabrella Beach Umbrella can be taken apart so that all 4 of the pieces (3 pole pieces and the umbrella canopy) fit into a 24" long carrying case. You can choose how many pieces of the pole you use, allowing for a height between 3 ft, 5ft, and 7ft (after driving the pole a foot deep into the ground). The umbrella opens up to a 76" canopy - that's over 6 feet wide!

Q: I want to use this umbrella for shade at soccer games. can I put pole into a hard dirt ground instead of sand easily? I'm not that strong
A: It will be more difficult to "screw" the pole into dirt than it would into sand, but you can use the Portabrella in dirt.

Q: The first FAQ does not answer the question of how the canopy can measure 76". How does the canopy unfold to become a 76" diameter.
A: The canopy opens up like a regular umbrella you'd use in the rain. You open it by pushing it up; it does not crank open like some patio umbrellas do. Therefore, the canopy can measure 76" and fold down to 24". To see the Portabrella in action, check out our demonstration video.
