Treasure: Wooden iPhone/iPod Dock

|

wood iphone dock.jpg

This beautiful piece - along with the iPhone itself - is going on my "I will buy all of these things when I have money to burn" list. It is yet another hand made gem I found on Etsy.

The wood is cedar, so you know it smells awesome. The design is simple, pretty - "nature chic", if you will. It is compatible with the iPhone 3g and all iPod devices. Except for the Shuffle. I have a Shuffle and nothing cool is compatible with the Shuffle.

It will set you back $78. Pricey, yes, but not completely unreasonable for a functional hand made piece.

Treasure: Vintage Belt Floor Mat

|

Belt Floor Mat Rug.jpg

By just looking at the photo above, you're probably wondering what the heck that is. You might be thinking it is something made out of wood. Wrong! It's a really awesome floor mat made out of vintage leather belts. Very cool and very unique. And at $688.00 it's also very expensive.

Each one is made-to-order and is one-of-a-kind. Assuming desk chairs could roll easily on it, this would be really neat for an office. Heck, it'd be neat anywhere you use it!

Treasure: TV Easel

|

tv_easel.jpg

Holy cannoli, I am in love with this TV stand. I feel bad calling it a TV stand, because that sounds so boring and commonplace, and this beauty is neither of those.

This TV Easel (name still doesn't do it justice) is constructed of solid hardwood and is height-adjustable to fit flat-screen televisions from 42" - 60". It's tough to tell from the photo, but there is a shelf on the bottom for your DVD player, cable box, and/or gaming console. It also has locking wheels on the bottom, and could also be used for a mirror or actual artwork. Oh, and the antiqued ebony finish is hand-applied in a four-step process.

So, you know what all this means, right? It's pricey. $995 at Restoration Hardware. Oh if I had $1000 to spare...

Trash: Chair Socks

|

chair-socks-4.jpg

Initially, I thought these Chair Socks by Chris & Ruby were a really cute idea. They're way more interesting and fashion-forward than those beige stick-ums you usually put on the bottom of chair legs, right? And it'd be a good way to add a little decorative kick to your dining area, right?

Then I looked at my dining chairs and imagined them with these pink "Flashdance" socks on them, and I realized how lame it would look. It's like putting a scarf around your refrigerator or something. It just doesn't go.

Treasure: Acrobatic Cabinets

|

stackedcabinets.jpg

Aren't these crazy cabinets awesome? I'm not sure if they're somehow bolted together, or if they're actually balancing one on top of the other, but either way, they're still insanely cool. They look like they're in the middle of a dance, one right out of Disney's Fantasia or Alice in Wonderland. It'd be tough to fit these into any standard decor, but I love the kooky look.

Created by artist Vincent Leman, they're available in three color combos. Here comes the buzzkill - they're $3205 per set. Yeesh!

Treasure: Mississippi Clock

|

mississippi clock.jpg

Most people count off the seconds one of two ways - You're either a "one thousand" counter, or you're a "Mississippi" counter. If you, like me, are a member of the latter group, this clock is for you.

Instead of displaying hours and minutes, this clock displays the seconds, all the way from "one Mississippi" to "sixty Mississippi". Fun, huh? And just so you don't get too confused, there are twelve little arrows that mark the hours.

It's simple and stylish, yet quirky enough for people to take a second look. Now I just need to figure out why the heck it costs $100...

fawn coasters.jpg

I'm a sucker for pretty much anything that has deer on it, and these Fawn Coasters by Joshua Stone are no exception. They're made of industrial felt, which seems to be all the rage right now, and the fawn is hand silk screened.

What else can I say? They're simple, peaceful, and completely adorable.

You can never have too many coaster sets, by the way. It's important to have one for every occasion. Be sure to check out the awesome selection of coaster sets and other barware over at Vat19!

Treasure: "Honey" Votive Holder

|

Honey Votive Holder.jpg

This votive candle holder is so cute and crafty! It's a glass votive holder covered in paper with a honeycomb and bee paper pattern. These are handmade, which makes them even better.
