Overview

The Sportula is a tough, high-quality stainless steel spatula featuring a laser-cut image of a golfer. While obviously geared toward golfers, the Sportula isn't going to disappoint any hard-core grillers.

The hard maple handles are riveted to a single piece of heavy-duty stainless steel which features a ground front edge for easier flipping. There's even a bottle opener on the end of the handle because we all know that drinkin' and grillin' go together like Batman and Robin.

High-quality construction

Honestly, probably not. The spatula doesn't work like a branding iron.

Why is it that nearly every cooking item you carry has a bottle opener?

We like multi-purpose kitchen items.

This is kinda hard to explain, but will the sportula leave the golfer pattern on the burger? (or other grilled meat)

As cool as that would be, the Sportula will not leave the golfer design on your burgers.

Probably not. I think most people have a pretty good handle on how a spatula works.

Most spatulas have holes in them so that the grease can run out. If your hamburger is runny enough to slide through this small of a hole then you're doing something wrong.

That would not only be a tiny burger, but also a very easily burnt burger.

In a previous answer, I read that a burger shaped like the laser-cut golfer would be burnt. Why? Would it be that tiny?

It would definitely be too small to cook evenly.

Will burnt on cheese be easy to get off of the spatula?

While the Sportula isn't specifically labeled "non-stick", it is easy to clean after use. Simply hand-wash with warm soapy water, and you shouldn't have a problem removing cheese or other BBQ residue.

why golf? why not other sports?

Honestly, we thought the golf was the coolest. If all goes well, we may add additional sports in the future.

It's possible but it could result in the rest of the patty being undercooked.

What if you're trying to serve sort of crumbly foods with this and the food falls through the golfer?

Then hopefully you would have had the foresight to use a different spatula. I can't think of too many things you would prepare on a grill that would be that small or crumbly.

We haven't seen any other spatulas with a bottle opener built in, so we think that's a pretty cool feature. Plus, the laser etching looks cool, and the whole spatula itself is solid. It's made from a single piece of stainless steel flanked by real maple handles. Way better than a cheap plastic flipper.
