Items such as gummy will melt when exposed to temperatures above 85 degrees Fahrenheit for extended periods of time.
That being said, our experience has shown that most packages arrive without any visible sign of melt. However, in an effort to provide our customers with the best possible experience, we now offer our Melt Protection Guarantee.
Melt Protection Guarantee
If you purchase Melt Protection, we will add ice packs and thermal foil to your package. The amount we add is directly correlated to the weight of meltable items in your order. For example, A 26-Pound Gummy Bear requires substantially more protection than our Big Gummy Bears and will be priced accordingly.
Should you choose to purchase Melt Protection, you are 100% guaranteed against your candy items arriving melted*. We will refund the cost of any affected items. All we ask is that you take a photograph of the damage.

Question: What if I don't want to pay extra for Melt Protection?
Answer: That's perfectly fine! The odds are in your favor, actually. Less than 10% of packages shipped during the summer will succumb to melt. However, this is looking at the United States as a whole. If you live in an especially hot area, you should seriously consider the Melt Protection.
If you decline the Melt Protection and your product arrives melted, you will have no recourse whatsoever for a refund.
Question: So... what happens if my stuff arrives melted?
Answer: If you purchased Melt Protection, we will refund the cost of the melted items. If you did not purchase Melt Protection, we will be unable to assist you.
Question: What can I do to give myself a better chance of beating the melt?
Answer: If you do not wish to purchase the Melt Protection, here are some tips on reducing the risk of your package arriving melted:
1. Check the temperatures of where you're sending the candy. If it's below 85 degrees Fahrenheit, you're probably OK without Melt Protection (although we can't guarantee how or where the carrier will store the package).
2. Ship the package to a location where someone is available to receive it throughout the day. A box left on a hot porch or inside a metal mailbox is a recipe for melt disaster. A business is your best bet as they tend to receive their deliveries earlier in the day when it's cooler.
3. Use an expedited method such as 2-Day or Next Day Air delivery. The faster it gets to you, the less chance it has to melt.
4. Place your order over the weekend or on a Monday. This prevents the package from sitting in a hot UPS warehouse over the weekend.
Question: How do you calculate the cost of the Melt Protection?
Answer: Each "unit" of Melt Protection includes an ice pack as well as a few feet of insulating foil. This is sufficient for approximately 5 pounds of meltable candy. To ensure you receive adequate thermal protection, we automatically assign the correct quantity of Melt Protection based upon the contents of your cart.

We do not guarantee melt protection on international orders. The ice packs only work for about 48 hours, so if you choose a cheap international shipping method that takes two weeks it won't make any difference anyway. We recommend waiting until temperatures are consistently below 85 degrees before attempting to order gummies without melt protection.

We can't guarantee melt protection on international orders, but it's definitely better than no melt protection.
Is the refund for melt protection offered in Hawaii if my items arrive melted or is it just for the Continental U.S?
Yes but we STRONGLY recommend going with something faster than the Economy Flat Rate shipping option if you're shipping to Hawaii or Alaska. The 5-7 business day estimate only reflects the contiguous states.

We cannot guarantee that it will not melt, but adding melt protection and choosing an expedited shipping method improves your chances of your gummy arriving intact.
Can we buy melt protection?
Not on its own. They're only available if you're buying something that requires it. Please note that melt protection is NOT guaranteed on international orders.
How much is this in pounds? (Weight)
Each ice pack weighs 11 ounces, which is a little more than half a pound.
would i need to buy the melt protection with my astronaut ice cream or will it be totally fine?
Astronaut ice cream does not need to be kept cold and is not capable of melting, so no, it is not necessary to buy melt protection.
I just bought a worlds largest bear and I chose flat rate shipping and melt protection. It is really hot where I live in the summer.( I live in America) If it gets melted, can I get a full refund?
Yes. In fact, that is the whole idea of buying melt protection. We even mention this in the description on the page above.

Can I reuse the Melt Protection Ice packs by putting it in the refrigerator again and again ?
Sure! In fact, I saved one for myself because they make excellent ice packs for migraines.

It's possible, however it does take quite a while for the packs to melt.

It's hard to say, but our checkout procedure actually stops the transaction and makes you answer whether or not you want the melt protection if you're ordering gummies.
Why can't you offer guarantee outside of the usa?
Because there's no way to keep ice packs cold for up to 30 days, which is how long some international shipments can take.
Is the Melt Protection a bag or a sheet?
The ice packs are just that, packs. The insulation is a sheet.
Will extra long twizzlers melt?
Not in shipping and certainly not as easily as gummies, so melt protection is not required. We will automatically offer melt protection if the food you're buying is susceptible to melting.
Can I get my orders boxed separately?
That depends on what you mean by "boxed separately." Each individual item is in its own box but they're all packaged in the same box for shipping. We cannot split an order up into multiple boxes without charging for additional postage. To do that you would enter multiple individual orders.
Will the extra weight/size from the Melt Protection ice pack and wrapping increase shipping costs?
Yes but only slightly. On average the shipping cost will go up by less than a dollar (excluding the Flat Rate shipping option).
Could you exchange euros into US dollars?
We will automatically charge the correct amount when you check out online. If you would like to know what the final cost will be before placing your order, we suggest using Google to look up the current exchange rate.
Would the chocolate chips in the Nam's Bits melt?
Maybe a little but it wouldn't be nearly the mess a melted 5 pound gummy would make.
If I attempted to buy two items, but only ordered one "Melt Protection" item, could I choose which (probably gummy) item to assign the Melt Protection to?
Melt protection is added when you select it during checkout. You do not need to choose how much melt protection you want; we automatically use the necessary amount.

Yes it will, if a replacement is feasible. If we see that the weather in your area is going to be consistently hot, then we may have to offer a refund instead.

It is possible depending on the temperatures the package is exposed to while in transit. We cannot offer any type of melting guarantee on international orders, so that is a risk you'll have to take.

No. All of our gummies are packaged in their own plastic containers. Should the worst happen you won't need to worry about it getting on your other purchases.

No. Not only would that drastically increase the cost of shipping, but Economy Int'l can sometimes take up to 30 days. It's impossible to keep ice cold for that long without refrigeration.

Probably not. Melting is really only an issue during the summer.

It's impossible to say because there's no way of knowing how long the package will be in either hemisphere. When shipping gummies internationally you should always choose the fastest shipping option available for this very reason.

It depends on the size of the order, but yes, if your order requires more than the basic amount of melt protection the additional must be paid for.
What if the product melts on the way to the house, like your right there at your door you just now get the package open it and it's a hot soup?
Then you would be entitled to a refund or replacement.

Because the amount of time it take a package to arrive is longer than the icepacks will remain frozen.

The gel inside our packs are approximately 99% water and 1% food thickener.

It generally gets around 60-80 degrees on a hot Summer's day in New England, would i need Melt Protection to protect gummies from the sun. Also, would the gummy melt faster if this was placed on inside out?
While the temperature in New England might not get terribly hot, it certainly does in St. Louis where our gummies are shipped from. During the summer months, I would recommend the melt protection if only for peace of mind.

Why is the Melt Protection not being shipped out of the us
Because it would not be effective. Most international shipments take at least 10-30 days and there is no way to guarantee that the ice will remain cold for that amount of time.

How will the gummy pizza stay cold if it is in a box?
It's not so much about keeping cold IN as it is about keeping heat OUT. In addition to ice packs we also insulate the inside of the box. The goal is not to keep the putty cold but rather to prevent it from getting hot.

Hard candies aren't nearly as prone to melting as our gummies. We don't think you will be needing the melt protection for any of our hard candy products.

Can you put a gummy bear in then put it in the microWave without it melting?
No. Microwaves do not generate heat like a conventional oven.

The Melt protection is an ice pack designed to keep your order cool while it's in transit. You'll want to store your items in a cool dry place when they arrive.

Briefly. It certainly wouldn't last very long if it was allowed to sit in a mailbox all day in the desert. We can only do so much in terms of cooling; it's up to you to bring it in quickly.

Sure. You could use the foil to wrap a lunch so that it stays warm (or cool) and you can use the ice pack for any number of things.
How long will will the ice-pack last before it gets warm?
It really depends on the ambient temperature it's travelling through. If you've bought the melt protection you really don't need to worry about that because your gummies are covered either way.

Isn't melted gummy delicious? Sure, its better as a made product, but I've microwaved gummy worms in the microwave and they are amazing.

Can you put this on ice cream?
The ice packs were designed specifically as packing material and are not edible.
Im from mexico, If i buy the 26 pound gummy bear and it come melted. Do i have a guarantee?
No. The melt protection is only guaranteed for orders within the United States.
If the gummy arrived melted, couldn't you just put it in the freezer/frige?
If the gummy arrives melted then it would simply be a sticky puddle. Putting it in the fridge isn't going to restore its shape.
Why doesn't the melt protection melt?
It will eventually. The melt protection insurance is more than just the ice packs; we also pack the box with insulation which will keep cold in and heat out.
What would happen if I put ice cream in it?
You can't really put anything inside of the melt protection packs. Besides, it'd probably be easier to simply store your ice cream in whichever freezer you use to chill the pack in the first place.

The Melt Protection Ice Packs cannot be used to keep things hot.

The ice packs are smaller than the WLGB, so you can't really put anything in them. They're designed to be packing material for heat sensitive products, so they don't have much use beyond that.

It's not food, so dietary laws do not apply.
How long does the melt protection last MAX?
It depends on the ambient temperature which they are travelling through. They should last long enough for any domestic order, however.
