A: No, the cell phone holder is made of plastic and will not scratch your cell phone.

Q: will it break if you drop it?
A: Probably not. It's made of plastic and, while not flimsy, it is flexible enough to sustain the impact of a fall.

Q: Does this weaken fire safety in any way? I worry about having it touch the prongs and overheating.
A: The plastic is not a conductor and when it is used properly, the metal prongs should not be directly touching the plastic (rather, the plastic of the charging adapter would be in direct contact with the Cell Phone Holder). However, the manufacturer said that if the prongs are in contact with the plastic that this should not be a problem.
