Q: why do you keep trying to confuse people by saying a regular soda is not artificially sweetened? does coke count as an artificially sweetened drink? YES. High fructose corn syrup. do your homework.
A: You've just unleashed our inner scientist, so watch out! High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is indeed a natural sweetener. It's simply a combination of fructose (sugar found in fruits) and glucose (a naturally occurring monosaccharide). HFCS is not to be confused with artificial sweeteners such as saccharin. In fact, "sugar" (derived from sugar cane or sugar beets) is a 50-50 combo of fructose and glucose whereas HFCS is simply either 42% fructose / 58% glucose or 55% fructose / 45% glucose. HFCS is made from yellow dent corn whereas saccharin is made from methyl anthranilate. So, you still think HFCS is artificial? Piece of advice: Next time you start pointing your finger, do YOUR homework unless you want to get served ;).

Q: why wont it work with artifically falvored stuff?
A: Drinks with artificial sweeteners do not yield the same soft, full-bodied slush that you'd get with a naturally-sweetened drink. This doesn't mean you have to use a drink with high sugar content such as soda. You can also try chocolate milk or coffee slushees!

Q: Can you use beer and make a beer sluchee? If so which is better a Pale Ale slushee or a Guiness slushee?
A: Wow, a beer slushee. We haven't tried this one either, but it should also work. As for suggestions on which is better - pale ale or Guinness - we cannot say. I suggest you purchase a Slush Mug and do some experimenting!

Q: I'm on a weight loss program and I used things like crystal light. I understand that you can't use anything with artificial sweetners (why is that?), but can I freeze water and stir the powder?
A: Natural sugar is what makes the slushie soft and full-bodied. Water alone, or water with artificial sweeteners, will freeze too tightly in the Slush Mug, and you'll end up with something much more icy, rather than slushy.

Q: Can it work with chocolate milk , to make something like ice cream?
A: You could make a slushee with chocolate milk, but it would not be the same consistency as ice cream. We made one with Frappuccino and it was delicious!

Q: Why does it have to be a "non-diet" beverage?
A: For some reason, artificially sweetened beverages do not slush as well as naturally sweetened ones. If you're looking to avoid high sugar content, you can try coffee or chocolate milk slushees.

Q: why won't it work with artificially sweetened beverages? Why couldn't I make a slushee out of my fave Crystal light? please explain
A: Drinks made with artificial sweeteners don't have the sugar content needed to make a great slushee. The crystalline structure of the molecules in artificial sweeteners are too tight, and therefore form a really hard ice rather than a full-bodied slush consistency.

Q: Can you make a slushie with just water so its kinda like snow?
A: Not really. Drinks with sugar content yield the most full-bodied slushees in the Slush Mug. Plain water would tighten up too much and become just icy. If you want snow, though, check out our Insta-Snow. You can create realistic-looking "snow" in just seconds!

Q: I understand that artificial sweeteners won't work, but what about natural ones like Stevia? Could this be substituted for sugar in something like lemonade to make a lower-calorie slushie?

Q: I am so hurt! Why won't the Slush Mug work with artificially sweetened drinks? I am a diabetic and couldn't wait until you got more in stock, now I am crushed...
A: Sorry, artificially sweetened drinks just don't have the sugar content required to make a slushee. These kinds of drinks will result in hard ice rather than a full-bodied slush.

Q: Why won't it work with diet soda...is their anything I can do
A: You probably could use a diet soda in the Slush Mug, but be warned that it will not yield great results. The slush will be much more hard and icy, rather than the soft, full-bodied slush you would get using a naturally sweetened drink. For some reason, it's the sugar that yields a great slushee.

Q: Can I make another slushee if I made one and I still want more or do I have to freeze the glaciercore before making another one?
A: If you make a slushee in the Slush Mug, dump that one out into another cup, and then immediately pour another drink into the still-freezing-cold Slush Mug, it will still make another slushee. It might not slush up as quickly or as much as the first one though.

Q: The slush mug works on sunny D and koolaid. But, it doesn't work on soda. I tried everything but it still doesn't work. Why?
A: Are you using diet soda? Diet drinks do not work well in the Slush Mug because they don't contain sugar, and sugar is what helps create a full-bodied slushee. We've used the Slush Mug with root beer and coca cola with awesome results.

A: An Icee is more airy than a slush. We're confident that if you love Coke Icees that you'll also love Coke slushees. Brain freeze feels like a brief, sharp, and intense pain in your brain. It's not a good feeling, so you're lucky that you've never felt it!

Q: Is there any known cure for brain freeze? I have a VERY LOW pain tolerance. Also, I love my brain.
A: There are a few ways that can help get rid of brain freeze: pinch the top part of your nose, drink something warm, massage the back of your neck, or press your tongue (or thumb) to the roof of your mouth for about a minute. You could also try to avoid getting brain freeze in the first place by eating slowly and trying not to let the slushee touch the roof of your mouth.

Q: So it takes about 6 hrs to freeze the core & you get only one mugful of slush. Why wouldn't you simply stick a bucket of juice in the freezer for a few hours & then just stir that up?
A: The core stays frozen for a long time, so you could easily make more than one mugful of slush per slushing session. Also, after the GlacierCore is frozen, it's not going to take long to refreeze it after you've made a few Slushees. Basically, the six hour freezing is a one-time thing. The Slush Mug makes soft, ready-to-devour slushees, and that's something you wouldn't really get from a frozen bucket of juice.

Q: So wait... The Glaciercore holds 12 oz.. Yet a 12 oz can of soda won't fit? doubleyou..tee..eff..
A: The GlacierCore holds 12 ounces of liquid. However, it can't physically house a soda or beer can. So, while the liquid contents of a 12 oz can of soda or beer will fit inside the GlacierCore, the can itself will not. Basically, the GlacierCore is a little thinner and a little taller than a standard soda can.

Q: I want to make low-sugar lemonade slush. If I combine Splenda and sugar for sweetness, what's the minimum actual sugar amount necessary for high-quality slush?
A: The sugar quantity depends on what you're trying to Slush. It would be a trial and error to find out what makes a Splenda and sugar lemonade into a good slushie. The manufacturer recommends starting with 5% sugar.

Q: If we cannot use diet soda, that means I can't use crystal light in this huh? :(

Q: Can you drink it with a straw?
A: You could use a straw, although we prefer using a spoon. The Slush Mug makes really good frozen slushies, not watery ones.
