Glowbee Sandpicture is a kinetic work of art.
Flip the frame upside-down, and sand trickles around air bubbles and through water to the bottom of the frame, creating an otherworldly landscape. And it glows in the dark!
With the Glowbee Sandpicture, you can enjoy both the process and end result of gravity-fed artwork. If you ever tire of your view, simply turn the frame over and generate a new landscape.

The Glowbee Sand Picture is not only engaging to watch as the sand flows, but it also creates interesting landscape scenes once the dust settles.
Flipping the picture over puts sand at the top, but it’s temporarily trapped there by bubbles of air. Sand is denser than the water and air, so it naturally wants to settle on the bottom, but it can only squeeze through holes between the air bubbles, creating a cascading stream of sand. When you’re ready to mix things up, just flip it over to create an entirely new scene.

Glows in the dark
There’s a good reason the Glowbee Sand picture has its name. It’s a sand picture that glows in the dark!
If the dynamic nature of the frame wasn’t enough to dazzle, the white sand charges when the room is light and phosphoresces with a green glow when it’s dark. The sand can be charged again and again by reintroducing it to light.
It moves in glow-motion.
One frame, thousands of pictures
Every time you flip the frame over, gravity will treat you to a new landscape image. That’s because each of the three colors of sand has a different density, and the way they flow around the air bubbles affects where they go.
Depending on the location, number, and size of the bubbles, you could end up with a swirl of sand or a geometric pyramid shape. You can even adjust the amount of air using the included syringe, which will speed up or slow down the flow of sand.

Question: Can you add sand?
Answer: The water, air, and sand are in a balanced closed system inside the frame. You can use the included syringe to add or remove air, but the amount of sand is not meant to be changed.
Question: Will it work in a portrait (vertical) orientation?
Answer: If the air is balanced right, the sand will still flow in a portrait orientation. However, the sand flows faster and has a wider area to flow into with a horizontal landscape orientation.
Question: Will it break?
Answer: The panes on the front and back of the frame are real glass, so it’s only as durable as glass. It won’t break with normal use.
