A: It takes about 4-5 medium-sized books to cover up the shelf's bracket and make it "invisible". We sure hope you have at least that many books in your home. If not, we suggest trucking it on over to the bookstore. Reading is fun!

Q: I have some books that are 9" deep. Too big, I assume for the standard size. Are they too small for the large? Will a 9" book on an invisible shelf designed for a 10" book render it visible?
A: A 9" deep book will fit on the Large size Conceal Shelf. The bottom of the shelf itself sticks out about 6" from the wall, so the shelf will not be seen if the book is more than 6" deep.

A: To remove the bottom book, gently lift up the books stacked on top of it a little bit and slide it out. Piece of cake!

Q: do you have to put a hardcover book?
A: You will need at least one hardcover book at the bottom of the stack. The back cover of the book will be inserted into the lip of the conceal shelf to hide the support. A paperback book is too flimsy and not durable enough for this purpose.

Q: Is there any possible way to use this with nails? My roommate would absolutely love this, but our apartment complex has a thing against screws. Also, this is the most awesome product!
A: The manufacturer does not recommend putting up Conceal Shelves with nails. It may be possible, but there's no guarantee that they'd be able to bear the load like the included screws would.

Q: Do you think I could keep a small gold fish bowl on this thing?
A: We don't suggest using the conceal bookshelf to hold a goldfish bowl. However, the large conceal book shelf can hold up to 20 lbs, so as long as your goldfish bowl weighs less than, you should be OK.

Q: What if I want to remove the shelf and reuse in my next apartment?Will the same screws be good to use? In case I lose the screws, can I replace them with similar sized ones?
A: Moving the Conceal Shelf is not a big deal. Simply unscrew, move it to the new location, and re-mount it. If you were to lose the screws, you could pick up similarly sized ones at a hardware store.

Q: I see that the larger one can hold books up to 10 inches in depth but was wondering how deep the actual bracket is. I'm looking to stack books that are only 6 inches deep, will that be too short?
A: The bracket on the Standard Conceal Shelf is a little over 5" in depth, so your books will work well with that one. The bracket on the Large Conceal Shelf is about 6.25" deep.
