Styled after the mind-boggling Rubik's Cube, this clock changes modes when you rotate the top. The Cube Clock features the following modes: clock, alarm, calendar (displays date as well as the day of the week), and temperature (Celsius and Fahrenheit). Totally righteous!

  • Rotate top to switch between modes
  • Requires 1 AA battery (not included)
  • Totally radical 80's clock!

Cube Clock is simple, retro fun!

There are some clocks these days that are so over-complicated or so "design-cool" (we're looking in your direction, binary watch-yes, a watch that displays the time in the 1s and 0s of computer language) that it takes five minutes just to figure out how to read the time. Not so with the Cube Clock!

The Cube Clock's large LCD screen is easy to read and when you want to change modes, all you have to do is twist the top. With only four, easily discernable modes, you'll never be confused as to whether you're setting the clock, the alarm timer, or the date. Speaking of setting the time-that's easy, too. Simply press the "up" and "down" buttons. We actually think that's a great feature. Who hasn't been frustrated by a clock that only adjusts upward? You're trying to set the time back two minutes, but you end up having to press the button 58 times.

Cube Clock works by twisting the top
Cube Clock Calendar Mode Cube Clock Temperature Mode
Calendar mode toggles between displaying the date and the day of the week. Temperature mode shows you the current temperature in both Fahrenheit and Celsius.
Cube Clock Alarm Mode Cube Clock Time Mode
Twist the top to alarm mode to display the current alarm's time. Clock mode, as you can guess, displays the current time.

Your questions that have been answered by the Vat19.com staff

Q: Can the rubiks cube clock also be used as a rubiks cube? Or is it unsolvable, just like a normal rubiks cube?
A: Only the top of the 80's Cube Clock twists. It is not a fully functional Rubik's Cube...it just looks like one!
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: why was it developed?
A: We imagine that someone who hated boring alarm clocks and loved the Rubik's Cube so much that he sat around thinking of all the things he could make in its likeness, which eventually resulted in the 80's Cube Clock.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Even if there is no backlight, is this still at any degree see-able at night?
A: Depending on your vision, the Cube Clock's display can still be read in a dim room. Unless you have some sort of super powers, you would not be able to read the display in total darkness.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: I see from the comments below that this clock has no backlight. Do the numbers for the time glow at night?
A: No, no glow.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: does it have snooze?
A: The 80's Cube Clock does not have a snooze function.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: If this had a kool indiglo backlight, like blue for instance, I would totally dig it! So, what do ya think? An updated version in the future??? Loving the products you guys put out! Ciao...
A: You WOULD totally dig it!? We totally dig the 80's Cube Clock just as it is! At this time, we don't have plans to make changes to the Cube Clock.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: if it doesn't have a snooze function, how do i stop the alarm sound?
A: To stop the alarm from sounding, rotate the top of the clock back to the "Clock" function.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Does the date display in only US format or others as well (i.e. Day/Month, rather than Month/Day)?
A: The Cube Clock only displays the date in US format (Month/Day).
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: When you set an alarm, do you have to keep the screen on the alarm one, or can you rotate it back to clock so you can see the time? Or does the alarm turn off once you are away from the alarm screen?
A: No, you don't have to keep the clock in the "alarm" position to keep the alarm on. You can turn the clock back to any other position (time, temperature, date) and the alarm will still be active. You can be sure of this by the small bell icon on the display screen. If the bell is there, then the alarm is on. If it is not, the alarm is off.

Q: How do change am to pm?
A: To set the correct time on the 80's Cube Clock, first rotate the top until it is in clock mode. Press the UP or DOWN button to choose between a 12-hour (am/pm) or 24-hour (military) format. Then press the SET button. When the hour starts flashing, press the UP or DOWN button to select the correct hour. It will say on the left side of the display whether you are in AM or PM. If it is currently 7pm and your clock is set to say, 7am, you'll have to press the UP or DOWN button 12 times to get to 7pm. When you have the correct hour, press press the SET button to save it. When the minutes start flashing, press the UP or DOWN button to select the correct minutes, then press the SET button to save.

Q: How are far are the offices that could hear this alarm?
A: When one of our product video producers was testing out the 80s Cube Clock, we could hear it beeping from several offices away.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: i don't see a way to change the volume in the pictures. where does the sound for the alarm come from, and is it loud enough to wake a heavy sleeper? is there a backlight so you can see at night? thx!
A: The volume on the 80's Cube Clock cannot be adjusted and there is not a backlight. The sound comes from the bottom of the cube. This might be a small alarm clock, but it packs a pretty big sound. When we tested the alarm, it could be heard from several offices away.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Can the top twist to the left and right or does it only twist in one direction?
A: The top of the 80's Cube Clock twists both ways.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Is The Cube The Same Size As The Real Cube???
A: The 80s Cube Clock is slightly larger than a real Rubik's Cube.

A: This depends on when you order and the shipping method you choose. If you order by 2pm CST and choose UPS Next Day Air Saver, you can have the item by the end of the next business day (Monday-Friday).
