Question: How difficult is it to break?
Answer: We usually don’t try to intentionally break our products unless they make claims about their durability. The Helicone is made with wood, plastic, and hollow brass components that can probably be broken if you try hard enough, but with normal use, it should last for a long time.
Question: How does it work?
Answer: Helicone’s wood slices are hinged on the brass pole and freely swing a predetermined distance before plastic stoppers limit their movement. As you use your hands to give the Helicone rotational momentum in one direction, the slices open to form a cone shape. If you turn the Helicone in the opposite direction, they will close to form a helix . See the video above for a mesmerizing demonstration.
