This mini, flexible USB desk lamp is perfect for late night computing sessions. The fourteen super-bright LED bulbs will never burn out and all you need is a USB port for power.

Unlike some USB gadgets that don't feature on/off buttons, the USB Desk Lamp smartly includes one. We've never understood some of these products that would require you to crawl underneath your desk to turn off your USB powered fondue pot.

This USB desk lamp can also take 3 AA batteries (not included) in case you're away from the computer.

Since LED bulbs never need to be replaced and there are fourteen in this lamp, you're basically ensuring illumination forever.

The USB Desk Lamp features fourteen LED bulbs, which means they'll never burn out. This is a good thing because there's nothing worse than having a desk lamp burn out on you late at night. Now, you have to go down to the kitchen and try to find a new bulb. You finally get one, go back upstairs, and realize that the bulb you grabbed is the wrong size! Won-der-ful.

Optional battery power makes the USB Desk Lamp a great reading lamp, too

Before you freak out and say, "Hey, I thought this was a USB lamp!", please relax. This is a USB Desk Lamp. It simply features optional battery power should you wish to take your lamp to a location where you don't have your computer. This optional source requires 3 AA batteries which are not included. Please note that a packaging misprint indicates that batteries are included, which is not true.

Q: What color is the light emitted by the lamp?
A: The light emitted by the lamp is white.

Q: Can the lamp be turned on and off by software, instead of using the physical switch?
A: There is no software included with the USB Desk Lamp. There are a number of ways that you could attempt to do it, but none are as easy as using the physical switch.

Q: Can you brand the lamps -and products in general?
A: On the USB Desk Lamp, personalization would only be a possibility in extremely high quantities (1000+). For most of our products, though, it's not a possibility at any quantity.

Q: Is it safe for the PC or Laptop to use these USB lamps?
A: The USB Desk Lamp is safe to use on any computer that has a USB port.

Q: What are the methods you can use to turn this off through software? They may not me easier than using the switch, but they would be a lot cooler and easier to automate.
A: Basically, you'd have to write your own USB Desk Lamp program to do it. There's a good chance that you'd need some specific information from the manufacturer, so this definitely wouldn't be a quick or simple solution unless you know what you're doing. Unfortunately, we can't provide any further guidance in this area.

Q: What is the power consumption of the lamp?
A: The manufacturer estimates the power consumption to be about 150 mA.

Q: If the light has batteries in it, and it is plugged into USB at the same time, which is its current power source? Does the light eat the batteries before it uses USB?
A: We're not certain, but we suspect that the USB LED Desk Lamp works like an alarm clock, where the batteries are used only in the absence of other power sources.

Q: Where can I find the aforementioned USB-powered fondue pot?
A: We don't carry the USB fondue pot, but it's quite possible that you could locate one through Google or another search engine.

Q: You gave answers to most questions I could think op, except one : if the batteries are rechargeable, would they be charged through the USB hook up? (I place the batteries in to weight down the base).
A: No, the USB Desk Lamp will not charge rechargeable batteries.

Q: How Bright is it? (for example, 40-watt light bulb? 100-watt light bulb? I assume brightness is NOT adjustable.)
A: The USB Desk Lamp's brightness is about 5 watts.

Q: Can the usb lamp be powered by a wall ac/dc adaptor with usb plug-in? Which voltage and amperage?
A: If the wall adapter has a standard USB slot, we can't imagine that you'd have any problems using it with the USB Desk Lamp.

Q: Could this plug into my PS2 which has a USB port?
A: The USB Desk Lamp will work on any USB port, including the PS2.

Q: How long will the lamp run on the three batteries. I would not be using this with a computer.
A: We do not know how long the batteries would last, as it would depend on which brand of batteries you used. However, the USB Desk Lamp has LED lights that do not draw a lot of power.

Q: How do LEDs work, anyway?
A: What do you think we are, scientists? We're just trying to sell a few USB Desk Lamps. Plus, the explanation would be way too long to fit in our response box. Search "LED" on Wikipedia if you really want to know.

Q: What's LED stand for?
A: Light-emitting diode.

Q: If I placed a metal cup on top of the USB lamp could it then be used as a fondue pot? Just wondering...
A: We doubt it. The USB Desk Lamp doesn't get very hot at all because it uses LED bulbs.

Q: is there any chance of providing metric measurements for the product. Also does it work with a mac as the picture shows a mac?
A: The USB Desk Lamp has a 17.78 cm. flexible neck and is approximately 27.94 cm. tall. The cord measures 152.4 cm. in length. And yes, the Desk Lamp works with any USB port, including a Mac.

Q: Why should I buy your product when you think mA is a unit of power? Why do you think LEDs last forever - i.e. "never burn out"? Isn't 50000 hours the practical maximum for such an application?
A: We don't think mA is a unit power. We know it's a measure of current. However, since most household appliances are rated by current draw, we figured that's more likely what the customer wanted to know when they asked about power draw. As far as your second issue...seriously, being a bit picky, aren't you?

Q: even tho led's never burn out, is there a warranty?
A: The manufacturer of the USB LED Desk Lamp offers a 90 day warranty.
