First! what was the history of drinking a beer from a boot?
According to Wikipedia, there are several stories connected with the origin of the beer boot. One states that a Prussian general swore to his troops that he would drink beer out of his boot if they won the upcoming battle. When they did, he ordered a glass shaped like a boot so he could drink the beer out of a boot without having to "taste his own feet". Another tradition states that German soldiers in WWI would pass around a leather boot full of beer before heading into battle. They would flick the boot for good luck before taking a drink, and then flick the boot again after their drink to wish good luck on the next soldier to take a swig.

As far as we know they have been discontinued, but we got them from a Korean fashion company called Virgin Blak.
I see the seams of the boot run down the front and back of the boot as opposed to either side of the boot. That means the boot is machine pressed, not mouth blown as described. The seams on mouth blown boots run down either side of the boot.
We had our manufacturer consult the factory, and this is how they explained it: It is mouth blown and hand made. In order to make it, a mold has to be used. The glass mass is mouth blown into a mold.

About as thick as any other pint glass. It's certainly not so thick that you can safely drop it on the ground or anything, but it's not so thin as to make it exceptionally fragile.

It's hard to say since there is usually a bit of variation in size from boot to boot. 48 fluid ounces weighs approximately 3 pounds, and Das Boot weighs approximately 2 pounds on its own, so it could weigh as much as 5 pounds when filled.

I'm not sure if there's a record, but if you're able to relax your throat and properly chug a beer, I imagine it would only take a few seconds. As for the average, it really depends on the person.

The vest and glasses came from a Korean fashion company called Virgin Blak, the boots were ski boots which we repainted, and the pants can be purchased pretty much anywhere that leather pants are sold.

As you can see in the picture, the "toe" of the Beer Boot is hollow also. The entire interior will hold beer.

As you drink the beer and tilt back the Beer Boot, an air pocket fills in the toe of the Boot. No need to worry! You can either hold the boot sideways, or turn the Boot when the beer is almost gone and the bubble is almost released.

Das Beer Boot is not made to hold hot liquids. Putting hot drinks in the Beer Boot is a sure way to burn your hand and possibly even break the glass.

You certainly can but it might not be completely necessary.
Is it safe to laser engrave the boot?
Perhaps, though you might want to ask the company you have in mind to do the engraving since they'll likely be experts at what can and what cannot be laser engraved. Typically, glass is etched chemically.

Das Boot is a play on words, a sort of malapropism, which refers to both the German word for "boat" (and a film of the same name) and the English word "boot". Since the name is a joke to begin with, to try to make it "correct" would be missing the point entirely.

It varies from boot to boot since they're all hand made, but I can assure you that it's very sturdy and not any more prone to breaking than a regular drinking glass.

That really was 5-hour Energy, but he did not drink it all. He did not drink all of the butter either. We think Paula Deen would be pleased to see so much butter, but we haven't heard from her. If you can get this video in front of her, we'd be forever grateful.

Yes, though you'd probably have to break your Das Boot to get it out.

It's not THE glass, as Beer Boots have been around for a long time, but the thing about "the bubble" is definitely true.

Hans is crazy for our gummy products, though he prefers to dip them in various imported cheeses.

Can Das Boot benefit from the "USB Warmer and Cooler" you also have for sale? (gratuitous cross-promo; you're very much welcome) I mean considering it doesn't really have a round bottom and such.
Das Boot probably won't work very well with the USB Warmer/Cooler simply because it's so much bigger than a standard glass, making it harder for the "coolness" to distribute throughout the whole drink.

Because of its shape, the Das Beer Boot is very unstable in the dishwasher. We recommend that it only be hand washed.
Can you place some size of plastic top, like a cup at fast food resturants?
We honestly haven't tried, but we don't think that a plastic lid will fit the Beer Boot.

We don't have an exact number, but you could easily fill the Beer Boot with several large bags of gummy bears.

What's the bubble thing?
"The Bubble" is a bubble that forms in the toe of the boot which, if you don't turn the boot correctly, could cause whatever you're drinking to spill all over you.
While your drinking from the boot at the end does it have that bubble like other beer boots?
You know it! You have to make sure to twist the glass at the right time to avoid the bubble.
Um... if it's "Hand Blown" why it there a seam running down the toe? That only appears in molded glass.
We had our manufacturer consult the factory, and this is how they explained it: It is mouth blown and hand made. In order to make it, a mold has to be used. The glass mass is mouth blown into a mold.

I think it's some sort of optical illusion. When you pour liquid into Das Boot, it does go into the toe.

The Beer Boot should be washed by hand.

You can't. Das Boot is far too small to fit on your foot.

Pretty much any glass can be etched, however we do not offer that service.

It was completely filled with 5hr Energy. We simply edited it in a way to only make it look like Hans was drinking the entire boot.

We really did use butter but we did not actually make him drink 5hr Energy. For that we just used a bit of clever editing.

Yes, you can put whatever food or drink you like in the Beer Boot, as you can see from our video.
can U wear the das boot or will it shatter
While considerably large for drinking, Das Beer Boot is very small for wearing. We do not recommend trying to wear the boot. Glass footwear can't be very comfortable anyway.

It's neither. It's just a generic foot shape.
