Jump starts your battery without needing another car

The beauty of this product is that it allows you to jump a weak battery without needing another car. Suppose you're in an empty parking lot and there's no help nearby. Simply plug your SelfCharge Auto Jumper into your car's cigarette lighter and within 10 minutes, you'll be ready to go.

Auto Jumper jumpstarts your car without cables.
Jump start a weak battery in 10 minutes.

No need for jumper cables or to go under the hood

Because all of your battery's charging is taking place through your car's cigarette adapter, you don't need to hook up cables under your hood. You also don't need another vehicle (and good samaritan) to help you out.

You won't need jumper cables with the SelfCharge Auto Jumper
You'll never need jumper cables again with the SelfCharge Auto Jumper.

Doubles as a portable back-up power supply

The SelfCharge Auto Jumper is essentially a large battery. Charge it up using the included AC adapter (or by plugging it into your car's cigarette lighter when the car is running) and then keep it in your trunk in case of an emergency.

The included 12V DC input allows you to use your SelfCharge Auto Jumper to recharge your cell phone or PDA.

Use the SelfCharge Auto Jumper to charge cell phones, PDAs, and other devices.
You can even use the SelfCharge Auto Jumper to charge a cell phone, PDA or other device using the 12V cigarette input.

Save your car's radio, clock, and computer memory when changing a battery

Plug the SelfCharge Auto Jumper into your car's cigarette adapter while you're changing a dead battery and preserve all of your car's settings.

It's annoying to reset all of your favorite radio stations and clock (if you can even figure out how to set it!). Avoid this minor frustration (as well as the major frustration of a car that won't start) with the SelfCharge Auto Jumper.

Burning Questions: You Ask and We Answer

Burning Questions: You ask and we answer!
Your questions that have been answered by the Vat19.com staff:
HELLO, HOW LONG IN DAYS---WILL SELF CHARGER HOLD A CHARGE AFTER BEING CHARGED IN THE HOME, AND STORED IN CAR TRUNK?
A fully-charged SelfCharge Auto Jumper will hold its charge for 3 to 6 months, or 90-180 days. To be on the safe side, you can recharge it every 3 months to ensure that it will always be ready when you need it.
how do I know if a car "switches off" it's power ports and cigarette lighter if the engine is off?
This information is likely available in your car owner's manual. If not, you can try plugging a cell phone charger into the cigarette port in your car. If the charger remains on after you turn off your engine, you'll know that it still has power.
When jump starting through cigarette lighter can damage the car computer? Is it possible to use the jump starter as apower supply for a Garmin GPS bypassing the Cig lighter?
As long as the SelfCharge Auto Jumper is used as instructed in the manual, it should not damage any part of your vehicle. Regarding use with a Garmin GPS: The SelfCharge's 12V DC power socket mimics the 12V socket (cigarette lighter) of a vehicle. Any accessory you would normally plug into your vehicle's 12V socket (cell phone, camcorder, GPS, radio, etc.) can be also powered from the SelfCharge's 12V socket, using the built-in battery as the power source.
if its cold outside and i need a "jump" not just a battery charge, will this product work for that as well?
Yes, that is what the SelfCharge Auto Jumper was made for!
Will it work on a 2004 Nissan Quest?
It's very difficult to know for sure, especially on minivans. As stated before, the Auto Jumper was designed for smaller cars with smaller engines.
Most cars it won't save the memory without the key being in and turned to make connection. You can't change the battery with the key in and turned without making a fireworks show.
The manufacturer has confirmed that it is safe to use the SelfCharge Auto Jumper while your key is in the accessory position.
What is the amp load of the starter unit? Is there a way to know when the unit needs to be re-charged? I have a trans Am with the High Torque starter. Will this unit work on that? Thanks. DP
The SelfCharge Auto Jumper uses 5 amps. The unit should be charged 12-24 hours when you first receive it. It should be re-charged after it has been used or after 6 months of non-use. There is not an indicator on the unit that tells you when to re-charge. According to the manufacturer, the torque should not affect the SelfCharge Auto Jumper, as torque has more to do with mechanics than with the electrical system. The SelfCharge Auto Jumper will work with small and medium size car batteries.
will this jump a totally dead battery?
Unfortunately, no, it cannot breathe new life into a car battery that is completely discharged.
do you ship to UK and is it okay to use on our regular cars?
Electrically, yes. Physically, possibly. The outlet's center conductor has to be positive and 12 volts. There are 2 kinds of outlet diameters used in Europe. The United States standard is a little bit narrower than the European standard. If the plug allows you to change the diameter, then the SelfCharge Auto Jumper will fit fine. Yes, Vat19 ships to the UK.
I want to know if there is any reason where THIS WOULDN'T work and a jump-starter (the larger ones with the traditional cables and on/off switch) WOULD, for example a larger vehicle needing a larger C
The SelfCharge Auto Jumper is designed to recharge 12-volt batteries with a low voltage between 10.4 and 10.5 Volts. So, if your car battery requires more than 10.4-10.5 Volts, then the SelfCharge would not be suitable for your vehicle system and you would need to use traditional jumper cables.
If you have a "dead" battery how are you supposed to charge the "charger" to jump your car, without a "good" samaritan?
When you first receive the SelfCharge Auto Jumper, charge its battery in your home. Then, transfer it to your car and keep it there in the event your car battery dies. If you were to use the SelfCharge Auto Jumper to recharge a cell phone, for instance, you could recharge your SelfCharge Auto Jumper using the cigarette lighter socket in your car while your car is running. It's a very versatile product.
Will the self charge work for a boat battery?
We would need to know the specifications of the boat battery in order to answer your question accurately.
Does this company that makes this offer a money back guarantee?
The SelfCharge Auto Jumper has a one year manufacturer's warranty that covers manufacturing defects. Damages that result from misuse, accidents, or improper installation are not covered under the warranty.
Please explain how the auto jumper works, and how it charges from inside the car through the cigarette lighter socket. Also, is there any warnings about the use of your product?
The SelfCharge Auto Jumper has a 5 Amp (14.5 volts), sealed-alkaline battery with the power you need to restart your car. Once the car battery has been jumped and fully charged, the SelfCharge Auto Jumper will begin to recharge itself automatically as you drive. There are no usage warnings for this product.
Does the 10 min. fully charge the battery, or will I need to get the overnight battery charger when I get where I'm going
No, it does not fully charge the battery. The Auto Jumper is designed to give your battery just enough energy to turn the engine over if the battery is too weak.
In question 3 you said "30-60 minutes to charge the device". Then later question you state that the time to have the device recharge the car's bat is 30-60 min. But ad says 10 minutes to charge car.
There seems to have been some confusion about which battery was in question. We have changed that answer to be more clear. To confirm, it takes 30-60 minutes to charge the actual battery in the SelfCharge Auto Jumper and only 10 minutes to charge your car battery using the SelfCharge.
You note that this won't work on a car that switches off its power ports when the car's off. Will this work if those power ports are switched on when the key is turned to the Accessory position?
According to the manufacturer, the SelfCharge Auto Jumper will work if the power ports are on when the key is in the accessory position.
Hi, Do you ship SelfCharge Auto Jumper to Singapore? Can it be recharged on a 220v wall AC outlet? Thanks. Rgds, Steven Koh [email protected]
Yes, we can ship the SelfCharge Auto Jumper to Singapore, and yes, it can be recharged in a 220v outlet.
will it charge an F150? sorry, don't know about battery sizes.
No, the Power Dome EX is probably a better choice for jump starting a depleted battery on your F150.
Can this be used on my Yamaha ATV since it also has a cigarette lighter adapter, it's 12Volt?. It's a real hassel to charge the battery.
The SelfCharge Auto Jumper is designed to recharge 12-volt batteries with a low voltage between 10.4 and 10.5 Volts. The power it gives is 19.8 Watts. The manufacturer has not tested the SelfCharge with an ATV unit, but the jumper can work with up to a 6-cylinder car at most.
Do you plan to make one that can be left in to charge in the cigarette lighter without damaging the SelfCharge Auto Jumper battery?
You can charge the SelfCharge Auto Jumper using either the AC adapter or your car's cigarette lighter (while the car is running).
What are the dimensions on this auto jumper?
The body of the SelfCharge is about 8.5" long, 2" wide, and 2" tall.
Does this really work is my question...I thought the cigarate lighter drained the battery not the other way of around.
Yes, it really works. Your cigarette lighter can do both.
I have a car that "switches off" it's power ports and cigarette lighter if the engine is off. Is there a way to still use this?
If your car turns off your power ports and cigarette lighter when the car is off, there is not a way for the SelfCharge Auto Jumper to bypass that, so it would not work in your car. If your car functions like this, we recommend that you purchase a Power Dome EX, which can also jumpstart a dead battery.
Several times you've made mention of "....12-volt batteries with a low voltage between 10.4 and 10.5 Volts". Since this appears to be tied to whether or not your device is appropriate for use, how would I know if my battery is of this "nature"? I'm sorry - I'm confused.
This information should be available in your car's user manual or on the battery itself. If you are still unsure, you might want to consult an automotive store or mechanic.
Is the self charge auto jumper powerful enough for a 3ltr engine
Yes.
Will this work on Hybrid technology cars?
The SelfCharge Auto Jumper will also work with hybrid cars as long as it is plugged into a cigarette lighter with at least 12 volts.
Could you provide specifics regarding the amp and voltage output ? And, what kind of battery is in the Jump Starter, Lead-acid, ni-cad, lithium-ion ?
The battery size of the SelfCharge Auto Jumper is 1500mAh, and the voltage output is 13.2V DC. The battery type is Sub C Ni-Cad.
2009 Mercedes Benz E-350 with V6 engine?
Probably not. The Auto Jumper was designed with smaller engines in mind. Think more along the lines of common sedans and coupes, such as Corollas and Civics.
Will it work for a 2005 c30 Mercedes?
I can't say for sure since we don't have that car to test with, but if the engine size is relatively small then we believe it should work.
Will this product power a LED Emergency Visor Light. I need battery power because my car adapter doesn't work when the car is off.
That shouldn't be a problem as long as your LED Emergency Visor Light has a 12v DC plug.
I would like to know if this product is good to use on just cars or would it work on big trucks with bigger engines? Also, what if the temperature is really cold outside. Will the charger hold?
The SelfCharge Auto Jumper was made specifically for cars and SUVs. It is not meant to be used for larger trucks. Cold temperatures will not have an effect on the charger.
Is it possible to overcharge the Auto Jumper's battery?
Not if used properly and as intended. It's safe to leave the Auto Jumper plugged in.
The battery in my 2009 Buick LaCrosse recently dropped to 11.2 voltage, and the starter wouldn't crank the 3800 engine. Would the SelfCharge Auto Jumper have been able to crank the engine?
It's possible, though we haven't tested it with 09 LaCrosse. The Auto Jumper is really designed for smaller vehicles.
Will this start a 2000 Nissan Xterra?
Probably not. Larger engines like those found in the Xterra need a bit more power to start than the Auto Jumper can provide.
i have a 4.6 v8 f150 ,will it charge my truck?
No, the SelfCharge will not provide enough power to charge the battery on your V8. The Power Dome EX could likely jumpstart a depleted battery, but it cannot bring a completely dead battery back to life.
What is the SelfCharge supplied home charger voltage 110 or 220 volts? Thanks.
It is 120vac.
Could this starter unit be used to jump start a dead battery on a motorcycle that has a 12v socket?
Yes, the SelfCharge Auto Jumper will charge your motorcycle as long as it has a 12v battery.
I have a motorcycle with a 12v adaptor in the fairing. Will this work on my bike?
The SelfCharge Auto Jumper will charge your motorcycle as long as it has a 12v battery.
will this work on trucks?
Yes, this jumper will work on trucks.
What's better this item or the other quick and easy battery jumper that also uses the cigarette lighter port ? Is one is 44 bucks the other one is 27.
Whichever you feel best suits your needs. Keep in mind that one of them requires another car.
Does the charger work in an 220V country?
The included AC adapter wouldn't, but the 12V port in your car will.
Will it work on a v6?
It's possible, but if the engine requires a lot of energy to turn over it might not work.
How can working under the hood with traditional jumper cables be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing?
You could damage your battery, cables, or even yourself if you are not careful with jumper cables.
Does this work on motorbikes and vespas?
Yes, the SelfCharge Auto Jumper will charge your motorcycle as long as it has a 12v battery. It takes about 30-60 minutes to charge.
WHAT DOES the SelfCharge Auto Jumper WEIGH?
The SelfCharge Auto Jumper weighs about 2.3 pounds.
Could it not jump start the battery straight away, then gain the additional charge from the running of the engine ?
The SelfCharge Auto Jumper does come with a charge, but we recommend fully charging the unit for about 60 minutes for the first charge. The unit will gain charge while the engine is running.
Does it recharge battries of V8 6.2 liters motors?
Larger motors might require more power than the Auto Jumper is capable of providing.
Will this charger jump a dead battery?
Not if it is completely dead. The Auto Jumper is only able to provide enough charge for a weak battery.
I live in Thunder Bay Ontario Canada and it can get pretty cold 40 below is cold. Will a cigarette lighter boster work in that kind of weather?
It's possible. Keep in mind that the Auto Jumper will not be able to jump a completely dead battery.
if a car has 2 cigarette lighters and you have 2 auto jumpers will it charge the car battery faster? or will it cause damage at all?
Honestly we're not sure. Using two would be completely unnecessary, however.
When using to preserve mem do you turn on the charger after plugging it into the igarette lighter socket? tks
Yes. The Auto Jumper has to be turned on.
Hi Im from malaysia , how can I purchase the product?
Click the "Add to Cart" button and follow the checkout steps. Just make sure to select Malaysia from the list of countries on the address form.
Is the SelfCharge Auto Jumper and the easy quick jumper made by the same manufacturer?
They are, which means you can expect the same level of quality in both products.
2 questions: 1. What to do when you "used up" (A.K.A using it 500 times) the Auto Jumper? 2. How do you know when you "used up" the Auto Jumper?
You'll know it is no longer fully functional by its inability to turn over the engine. 500 times is a lot, though. In all my years of driving, I've only ever needed a jump twice. Should you actually bring the Auto Jumper to its end, I would suggest bringing it to a proper facility capable of disposing electronics.
Do u ship to Ireland, and does it come with a univerial charger?
Yes we ship to Ireland, but we do not offer universal chargers.
How do I recharge the unit?
You can charge it up using the included AC adapter, or by plugging it into your car's cigarette lighter when the car is running.
If unit is not used for long periods of time will charger hold charge for periods over a year
The manufacturer recommends that even if not used, the Auto Jumper should be recharged every 12 months. This would imply that it holds a charge for about a year.
I have a spare lighter socket in my boot. Can I leave the charger plugged in to keep it charged? I'm guessing it charges when switched off and discharges when switched on.
The SelfCharge Auto Jumper should not be left plugged in all of the time. Leaving it permanently plugged in may cause internal damage to the battery.
After initially charging the SelfCharge Jumper, how long does it keep its charge? Would it be still fully charged in 6 mo? 1yr? 2yr?
The SelfCharge Auto Jumper will hold its charge for 3 to 6 months. The charge will gradually decrease over time, but every few months you can plug it in to recharge so that it is always ready should you need it.
So the AC Adapter is optional?
That is correct. Here's a quote from the page above: "The SelfCharge Auto Jumper is essentially a large battery. Charge it up using the included AC adapter (or by plugging it into your car's cigarette lighter when the car is running) and then keep it in your trunk in case of an emergency."
Will this work on an 06 chevy colorado with a 3.5L I5?
I sincerely doubt it. The Auto Jumper will only work with smaller cars that have smaller engines. Big trucks like that require a lot more energy to turn over than the Auto Jumper can provide.
I'm in Australia, how do I buy your products?
Simply click the "Add to Cart" button and fill in your address. We ship internationally.
Will it work on a toyota camry 2.0?
Possibly. We don't have every car in the world to test it with, but if your car has a relatively small engine (compared to an SUV or truck) then the Auto Jumper should work.
Can unit be left plugged into acccessory plug to charge for long periods ( months ) without overheating or damaging unit ?
The SelfCharge Auto Jumper should not be left plugged in all of the time. Leaving it permanently plugged in may cause internal damage to the battery.
Does this work on diesel cars?
As long as the engine isn't too large then yes.
Will it work with VW Tiguan?
Larger cars and SUVs, like the VW Tiguan, are too large for the Auto Jumper.
Instead of plugging it in the cigarette lighter to recharge your car, can we plug it in the power outlet?
The Auto Jumper does have an AC adapter so you can plug it into a wall outlet.
Will this start a 2007 Acura MDX.
SUVs like the Acura MDX are too large to be charged with the Auto Jumper.
If your car battery is completely dead to the point of no lights on and no worrking cigarette lighter, but will start with a jump, will the the Auto Jumper work if you turn the key to the applicable position with no working lighter?
There is a possibility that if you have a car with a smaller engine that it may work, but in an instance where the battery is completely depleted, you would probably be better off with the Power Dome EX.
how long will this stay charged in my trunk b4 i have to recharge it?
It is recommended to recharge the SelfCharge Auto Jumper every 2-3 months.
Will the selfcharge auto jumper hurt the car 's computer system.
No it will not. However, your car's computer system may lose its settings if it loses power completely.
You say that a cigarette lighter is used. Can a non-cigarette lighter receiver be used. Most cars today do not have cigarette lighters.
Yes. The 12v outlet is what we're referring to. Many people still refer to those outlets as "cigarette lighters" despite the fact that cars haven't included actual cigarette lighters for well over a decade.
Hello, I wanted to know if this battery pack can be used to power a 12-volt powered electric travel blanket. The blanket has a 12-volt male cigarette adapter for car use. I want to use the battery pack inside a tent with blanket for winter camping.
You can but we can't guarantee that it would provide power for very long. Electric blankets tend to draw a lot of power.
So you say in the video you recommend plugging it in again to charge it every month or so? But how long does it have to be plugged in for?
Just long enough to be fully charged. The indicator light will change when it is fully charged.
Do you send them to Mexico?
Yes, we ship internationally.
Can I charge the Spotlight rechargeable flashlight with it?
Yes you can.
is there a lithium battery version of this?
Not that we carry. Sorry!
Does the battery charger come with the cord to charge it from an electrical plug in the house or must that be bought seperately?
The SelfCharge Auto Jumper does not include an AC adapter.
Is this device charge my tablet or any android device??
Sure. You can even use the SelfCharge Auto Jumper to charge a cell phone, PDA or other device using the 12V cigarette input.
Can the Jumper charge in US outlets or in any other outlets in the world?
The 12V plug is found in cars all over the world, so it shouldn't be an issue. You'd need an inverter to plug the Auto Jumper into the wall.
Can I use it as a Power Bank for my phone?
You can! Here's what we said in the overview at the top of the page: "The Auto Jumper also doubles as a portable back-up for cell phones, laptops, or any other device that can be powered by a cigarette lighter adapter."
Is this product suit with Honda City 1.5cc ?
It's certainly possible. The Auto Jumper was designed specifically for cars with smaller engines (coupes and sedans mostly).
Would it work on almost any car ? from a smart passion coupe to a Ferrari California ?
Not any car. The Self Charge Auto Jumper was designed for small to medium sized engines.
I hear its only a 5 amp battery, will there be a 10 amp version for larger truck such as commercial
There are no plans for larger models at this time.
My car keeps breaking down Will this help? if so How much does it cost in British pounds
It sounds like your car issues might be more serious than a weak battery. Also, because currency exchange rates change daily, you would need to look up what the exchange rate is on the day you actually make your purchase if you wanted to know exactly what would be coming out of your account before paying.
Will this work in a Prius since they have larger batteries?
We haven't tested Auto Jumper with a Prius, so you may want to consult your owner's manual to see if the battery size is compatible.
Will It work for Ford Explorer?
A Ford Explorer is a bit too large. The Auto Jumper was really designed for smaller vehicles.
Will it work on a Dodge Caravan minivan?
A Dodge Caravan is a bit too large for the Auto Jumper.
Will it work on Toyota prius?
Possibly. We don't have access to all cars, but if your car has a relatively small engine (compared to an SUV or truck) then the Auto Jumper should work.
Does this device require regular charging to remain functional?
Yes. You cannot charge a battery if the Auto Jumper does not itself have any charge.
Am looking for something that will charge a dead ( I'm assuming that no sound t all when I turn key =dead) battery without opening hood. Do you carry or can you refer me to who does. I will get yours as well for when I leave my inside roof light on
Most of our products are designed to jump weak batteries that are still good, not completely dead ones. You might want to try an auto store or perhaps even buy a new battery.
while recharging the battery charger from my car's cigarette point, if I leave it more than half an hour would it auto disconnect or it can harm the battery
It doesn't automatically disconnect but you cannot overcharge Auto Jumper's internal battery. Nothing to worry about there.
Will this open the trunk of a Mercedes car if I'm unable to use my smart key and manual key?
Possibly. Keep in mind that the purpose of the Auto Jumper is to provide just enough electricity to the battery to turn the engine over.
Is it works with medium cars such as Honda Accord?
Presumably. We can't test every car in existence, so you'll have to use your best judgment based on the description we give above.
Will this unit work in an 07 Prius ?
Possibly. We don't have access to all cars, but if your car has a relatively small engine (compared to an SUV or truck) then the Auto Jumper should work.
Will it work on a van?
It's very difficult to know for sure. The SelfCharge Auto Jumper was designed for smaller cars with smaller engines.
1. Will it work on 2000 Volvo S40? 2. How does one assess the degree of "deadness" of the car battery?
It shouldn't be an issue as that is a smaller car. If your battery can still turn on the features in the car, but not turn over the engine, that is a good indicator.
Will it work for jumpstarting 2005 Nissan altima 2.5S ??
Possibly. We don't have every car in the world to test it with, but if your car has a relatively small engine (compared to an SUV or truck) then the Auto Jumper should work.
I am assuming it will work on my wife's VW (4 cyl) but not my chev PU 2500?
You would be correct. This product was designed solely for smaller engines.
Will it jumpstart a Volkswagen Passat 1.4?
Possibly. We don't have every car in the world to test it with, but if your car has a relatively small engine (compared to an SUV or truck) then the Auto Jumper should work.
can I recharge in my house?
Not unless you have the appropriate 12v outlet in your home. It'd be much more convenient to charge it in your car so you don't have to worry about forgetting it at home.
Do you ship this product to Malaysia?
Yes, we are able to ship to Malaysia.
How does this work?
The Auto Jumper charges your battery directly through the DC outlet.
Since it will auto recharge as long as I leave it in the cigarette lighter socket, will it overcharge and shorten the life of the SelfCharge Auto Jumper?
Yes, this unit needs to be unplugged after the charging time. Extensive overcharging will damage the internal battery of the SelfCharge Auto Jumper. We suggest that you recharge it periodically and keep it in your glove compartment or trunk.
do it really work?
Yes. The SelfCharge Auto Jumper is basically a large rechargeable battery. As long as it has a charge, plugging it into your cigarette lighter will transfer that charge to your car's battery.
What's the maximum amount of time it takes to charge the unit plugged into the cigarette lighter adapter?
It would take 30-60 minutes to charge the SelfCharge Auto Jumper through a cigarette lighter. This should only be attempted while the car is actually on, as you don't want to drain the battery unnecessarily.
The video and description says that this jump starter can be recharged over 500 times. That is a lot and I'm imagining that it would last a long time, but after that 500+ is up, then is this device useless and has to be bought again? Thank you.
Rechargeable batteries do not last forever. Eventually the battery would no longer be able to hold a charge and a replacement would need to be purchased.
I own a Nissan Altima. Will it work properly on my vehicle?
We don't think that will be a problem. You'd only run into issues with larger vehicles such as trucks, RVs, and some vans.
Can this " jumper " charge a motorcycle ?
In most cases it will. You just have to make sure that your motorcycle has a 12v socket for the Auto Jumper to plug in to.
Will it work on a v8 engine?
I doubt it. The Auto Jumper was designed for smaller engines.
What is a Power Dome?
This is a Power Dome.
How long will it take the SelfCharge Auto jumper's battery to charge using a wall outlet at home?
It takes about 30-60 minutes to charge.
What type of battery does this use? Is it NiCad?
Yes, the battery is Ni-Cad.
Do you ship this product to India?
Yes, we can ship to India.
If my car won't start, then do I turn my key to the "ON" position and plug the Auto jumper?
You only need to turn your ignition to the "accessory" position if your car turns off your DC port when the ignition is in the "off" position. Some cars maintain accessory power even when the ignition is off. But if yours does not, you will need to put the ignition to the "accessory" position in order to use the SelfCharge.
In your Questions about having to have the key in below, one time you say it will work and then the very next one you say it won't ?????????
We apologize for the confusion. The initial question was whether the SelfCharge would work if the power ports and cigarette lighter were switched off. The answer to that is "no". However, if you are able to turn the power ports and cigarette lighter on with your key in the accessory position, the SelfCharge should work just fine.
Can I buy the ac adapter??
We're sorry but we no longer carry this product at Vat19.
I have a Ford C-Max. They have a reputation for going FLAT DEAD, or showing up that way. After a jump start, they return to normal. Can this plug in jump-start be used to start a C-Max Hybrid SEL Ford?
Possibly. We don't have access to all cars, but if your car has a relatively small engine (compared to an SUV or truck) then the Auto Jumper should work.
Can it be used to power a regular laptop pc,and how
If your laptop has a 12v power cord, sure. The Auto Jumper won't be able to power your laptop for very long.
How many times can it charge an iPhone 5 before it runs out?
It depends on how depleted your battery is. Unfortunately we don't have one to test out, but the idea is to only use it for emergencies. The Auto Jumper will charge an iPhone, but I can't tell you how many times it will do it before completely running out of energy.
Will it work on a 2009 Kia Spectra?
You may want to double-check the owner's manual of both your car and the AutoJumper, but it seems that a Kia Spectra should be compatible.
Could you define a "weak" battery? My Honda often needs a jump because the interior lights are left on overnight but then jumps quickly. Is this a "weak" battery or a "fully discharged' battery?
It sounds like your car has a weak battery. If your car had a fully discharged battery, it would be completely dead and would not respond to a jump.
Hi there, I was wondering once you have this charged up, will the cold draw the charges out, like it does with regualr batteries( flashlight) batteries.
Cold weather should not decrease the charge, but we would recommend giving it a charge every 2-3 months just to be safe.
what about a v-8 engine like in a Lexus SC430?
No. Large cylinder engines such as a V8 probably won't work.
Does this product works with a power dome generator using its ac charging outlets?
Theoretically, but if you already have the Power Dome you'll have a much easier time jumping your vehicle with that.
Is it safe for cars nowadays which are computerized?
Yes, however we cannot guarantee that it will work with many of the new electric cars.
How about vans diesel engine 4 cylinder?
As long as the engine isn't too large then yes. 4 cylinders should be okay.
How many charges would it do in 1 month?
That depends entirely on what you're charging and for how long. You should always keep your Auto Jumper fully charged.
Will this work for a motorcycle? How long to fully charge the auto jumper?
Yes, the SelfCharge Auto Jumper will charge your motorcycle as long as it has a 12v battery. It takes about 30-60 minutes to charge.
My lighter isn't on when the car isn't turned on. Will it still work?
If your car lighter isn't on when the car is turned off, you can always charge it while the car is running. Charge time can be between 30 and 60 minutes, so you could charge it while you drive.
your video stated wait 10 mn before strarting the car but the manual stated 35 mimutes.why such a discrepancy
If your battery is not too depleted, then it should only take 10 minutes for the SelfCharge to jump your car. But if your battery is nearly (if not completely) depleted, it may take up to 35 minutes for the SelfCharge to jump your car. You'll know whether your battery is too depleted or not by your interior lights. If they turn on, your battery is not too depleted. If they do not, then your battery is almost (if not totally) depleted.
If it is to cold for my car to start, will this jump my car like a normal set of jumper cables from another car does?
Yes. The cool thing is that you won't need another car or a set of jumper cables!
Is this safe for use on classic cars (50's) which run on orginal 6v system?
No. The SelfCharge Auto Jumper is designed to recharge 12-volt batteries.
Does this work on any vehicle or only small ones? Thanks in advance. I look forward to your response.
There is definitely a limit to the size of the engine/battery the Auto Jumper is able to work with. If you drive a big truck or SUV, the Auto Jumper might not be for you. You can read more about the Auto Jumper's specifications here.
Does it work in uk? What charger would I need usa is 150v uk is 240v?
The 12 volt plug should work in your car's 12v socket, but for charging with the AC adapter you might need to purchase a separate converter/adapter.
Wait I don't get how this jumpstarts your car. Doesn't the car use power for the power? Mind explaining? >_<
The SelfCharge unit itself charges your car's battery through the cigarette lighter. That's why it's always important to maintain the charge on the SelfCharge Auto Jumper. We recommend recharging every 3 months or so.
Would it prevent the car battery from draining out by plugging in a fully charged SelfCharge Auto Jumper in the cigarette lighter while watching movie through in-dash DVD system with car not running?
The manufacturer tells us that no, the SelfCharge would not prevent your car battery from draining in that situation.
Hi there, I was wondering how this will work if you have a cell phone and you normally have this plugged into the plug in. And how long does this have to be in the lighter to get a charge.
The Self Charge Auto Jumper has a 12V DC input, which allows you to charge both your cell phone and the jumper at the same time. It takes about 30-60 minutes to charge.
Will it work for Honda insight vti hybrid ?
I can't say for sure since we don't have that car to test with, but if the engine size is relatively small then we believe it should work.
It needs to fit Audi a4 cigarette lighter which for whatever reason is different than American specs?
After doing a little bit of research it seems that the Audi A4 has the appropriate 12v outlet.
How many times can this battery be used to jump a car? Do you plug this into a wall outlet to recharge it?
The manufacturer recommends recharging the unit after each jump. The unit itself can be recharged up to 500 times, so that gives you about 500 jumps. We certainly hope you don't need that many! As for recharging, you can do so via a wall outlet in your home, or via your car's cigarette lighter (while the car is running, of course).
is this only for US Cars or will it work in cars in Europe? Thanks!
As long as your car has a 12 volt outlet, the SelfCharge Auto Jumper will work no matter where the car was made.
Will this work for a 1994 Acura Integra?
It's definitely possible. Please note that the Auto Jumper will only start a car with a weak battery, not a completely dead one.
Is this correct? Plug into cigarette lighter for stalled vehicle on road to start the engine. How can I start my ridng lawnmower with no cigarett lighter adapter??
Obviously, if your vehicle does not have a 12v outlet then the Auto Jumper will not work for you.
Will it work as a back-up battery for an HP Pavillion dv7? If so, what is the estimated range of time it will provide power for the PC?
We're not really sure how long, if at all, the Auto Jumper could power your PC. The Auto Jumper was not designed to operate as a backup battery for computers.
Will this work on a 1996 ford taurus that is dead?
Probably not, as a completely dead battery in a car that size would require a bit more power than the Auto Jumper can provide.
when the battery charger is fully charged, how many times can i use it before needing to recharge it again? what happens after i recharge it 500 times, do i need to buy another one?
The manufacturer recommends recharging the unit after each time you use it to jump start your vehicle. With proper care and maintenance, you may get more than 500 charges out of the SelfCharge Auto Jumper, but we still think 500 charges is quite an impressive number!
Jump-starting a "weak" battery is all well and good. But will your product still work when the car's battery has gone completely, stone-cold dead?
While the manufacturer states that the SelfCharge Auto Jumper can charge a dead battery, we suspect that there's a "degree of deadness" at which this charger will no longer be able to restart your car (where regular jumper cables may still be able to do the trick). The beauty of the SelfCharge Auto Jumper lies in the fact that it will work in most situations, it doesn't require outside assistance, and it can also charge your cell phone and other small devices.
How long can it charge a phone before running out?
That will depend on how much energy your phone's battery draws from the Auto Jumper.
Q: My Nissan TIIDA allows the cigarette lighter to operate in the first position of the key, which then turns on the radio standby etc. That will put an extra load?
The SelfCharge will still be able to function in this scenario. Please note that the SelfCharge is most effective when the car battery is only weak. If the battery is completely dead, you'll need to use a heavy duty jump starter.
will this product do harm to my car in any way?
No, if the item is used properly, as described in the manual, it will not damage your vehicle.
alternater stopped working and battery died.could i use this to power my 4 way flashers and lights when i am hooked upto a toe truck
Yes, if the battery will accept a jump then lights and flashers powered by the battery will work. If the battery is completely dead and cannot be jumped, then these lights will not work.
Will this product maintain a charge in severe heat? I live in the california desert and my car does get very hot inside
The manufacturer tells us that the optimal operating temperature is below 110°F (40°C).
when the SelfCharge Auto Jumper is fully charged, how long will the full charged be maintained for?
You can expect the charge to last for three months.
Hello, did you say it takes 30 to 60 minutes for the battery to charge? Thank you Merci ! [email protected]
It takes 30 to 60 minutes to initially charge the battery in the SelfCharge Auto Jumper. When it is fully charged, it should only take approximately 10 minutes for it to jump your car's battery.
How much energy, measured in joules, is stored in this product (Self Charge Auto Jumper)
The manufacturer doesn't know the energy stored in joules, but we do know that it generates a total of 19.8 watts of power and its voltage output is 13.2V DC.
How much does it weigh? Regards
The SelfCharge Auto Jumper weighs about 2 pounds.
Can this unit charge a Volkswagen station wagon or is this only for small cars?
The SelfCharge Auto Jumper is designed to work with both cars, SUVS, and station wagons.
After it is fully charged how many weeks or months can elapse for the battery to be useable to charge a car battery
The charge will deplete over time, which is why it is suggested to top-off / re-charge the SelfCharge Auto Jumper every several months.
how often can you use this product/how many times can you charge/recharge your battery?
According to the manufacturer, the SelfCharge Auto Jumper can be used up to 200 times.
How much energy does it store? (i.e. 8000mAH @ 12VDC)
The battery size of the SelfCharge Auto Jumper is 1500mAh, and the voltage output is 13.2V DC. The battery type is Sub C Ni-Cad.

Please excuse the shameless cross promotions!
