Portable 8-in-1 power for any type of emergency

The beauty of the Power Dome EX is in its design. It's compact, measuring approximately 12" tall by 12" wide and only 9" deep. It's also an 8-in-1 tool featuring a radio, air compressor, jumpstarter, 2 AC outlets, 1 DC outlet, USB port, a 5 LED light, and an iPod/audio input socket.

Power Dome EX

The Power Dome EX should be in every car's trunk

In our opinion, the Power Dome EX should come standard with every car sold in the U.S. Of course, that would be bad for us because then you wouldn't need to buy one from us...

We fell in love with the Power Dome EX while creating the video for it. It is so easy to use and it has so much power. We jumpstarted cars, filled up tires, powered iPods, ran drills and fridges and never once had to recharge it.

The 260 PSI air compressor inflates a 16" tire in only 5-10 minutes

Provides power for all types of devices

The Power Dome EX can simulatenously power 2 AC appliances, 1 DC appliance, and 1 USB port. That means that if the power goes out, you could run a portable fridge, a drill, a cell phone, and a USB Lava Lamp all at the same time.

We think it's obvious why you'd need the fridge and cell phone, but perhaps the drill and lava lamp require explanation. Let's say that the power is out because alien's have landed on earth and are trying to take over the planet. You use the drill to board up your house. But, they're dastardly devils, so when you find one slinking around your living room, you mesmerize it with your USB Lava Lamp while Joaquin Phoenix bashes it over the head with a baseball bat and your eight year old daughter tosses a dixie cup worth of water on it and it melts away. So, we think it's pretty obvious why you need to buy a Power Dome EX right away.

The Power Dome EX can simultaneously power 2 AC outlets, 1 DC outlet, and 1 USB port.

Conveniently features an LED lamp and radio

The LED light means you never have to change the bulbs because they'll last nearly a lifetime. The AM/FM radio gets darned good reception. We used it in our set shop and warehouse and every station was crystal clear. The optional audio input jack is awesome because you can hook up your iPod or portable CD player (which is probably somewhere in the attic on top of your original WalkMan). OK, so maybe you'll only use it with an MP3 player.

Power Dome EX features a 5 LED work light
The bright 5 LED light is a must-have if the power goes out.

I have a burning question about this product!

Is there something you need to know about this product that we've omitted?

Send us an anonymous question and we promise to answer it within 1 business day. The answer will be displayed below.

A few customer questions we've answered

Q: can you recharge more than one item at a time?
A: Yes. The Power Dome EX can simulatenously power 2 AC appliances, 1 DC appliance, and 1 USB port. That would allow you to recharge a number of items at the same time.

Q: once you have charged an item, does the generator itself have any juice left, or is it required to be recharged again right away?
A: No. From a fully charged state, you shouldn't have any trouble performing several functions on a single charge.

Q: if you recharge your car battery, does the generator have any juice left to do anything else?
A: Yes. We jumpstarted cars, filled up tires, powered iPods, ran drills and fridges and never once had to recharge it.

Q: the description states that it has 600 amp cranking power- does it have a hand crank? -- that would be a good feature to create more power if there's not access to an electrical outlet
A: No, the Power Dome EX Compact Generator has a lot of functions, but it does not include a hand crank.

Q: what type of warranty does this product have?
A: The Power Dome EX has a one-year warranty.

Q: Is this an actual generator, or a portable power supply?
A: By "actual" generator, you're probably thinking of a generator that is powered by gasoline or natural gas. The Power Dome EX does not fall into that category.

Q: I'm looking for something to run my sump pump when the power goes out. Is this powerful enough to handle a standard sump pump for a day or two?
A: A sump pump is either 1/3 or 1/2 horsepower. The Power Dome EX is not powerful enough to handle a sump pump for a day.

Q: How much does it weigh?
A: The Power Dome EX Compact Generator weighs almost 20 pounds.

Q: What is the gauge # of the cables?
A: The jumper cables on the Power Dome EX Compact Generator are #6.

Q: how long would it be able to perform 300Watt?
A: The manufacturer says that it could run for 3 months and that it would need to recharge for 2 days.

Q: Your video says it the tool for the MAN, I have this power source and as a female it has saved many dead batteries and several flat tires...In fact, you should mark it specifically for women drivers!
A: Thank you for setting us straight!

Q: can 2 power domes be hooked togeather to put out 800 watts, and can it be recharged by the use of a bycicle powered generator (Pedal-A-Watt)?
A: No, you can't daisy-chain your Power Dome's together. If you had a pedal-operated machine that outputs 120V, then yes, you probably could recharge the Power Dome that way. You'd probably have to pedal a few thousand miles, though.

Q: how many times can this unit be re-charged befor its trash, or life expectancy of this product?
A: That would be largely dependent on the way that you used it. Since the manufacturer offers a 1-year warranty, we suspect that it will generally last at least that long (and probably much longer) under normal usage conditions.

Q: can you run a full size fridge, portable heater or a fan?
A: We doubt that you'd be able to run a full-size fridge, but the PowerDome shouldn't have any trouble with the heater or fan.

Q: Would it handle a 1/2 hsp sump pump for a couple of hours?
A: No, it would only be able to run for a very short time.

Q: Internal battery type: Sealed lead acid Is this battery replacable?
A: The Power Dome's internal battery is both rechargeable and replaceable.

Q: Can I use this for my desk lamp?
A: As long as your desk lamp uses a standard AC or DC outlet, you can use the Power Dome EX to power it. Also note that the Power Dome EX can power USB devices. So, if you've got a USB Desk Lamp, the Power Dome EX can power that as well.

Q: How many amps is the battery inside the power dome?
A: The internal battery capacity is 600 amps.

Q: Are there extra batteries with this product?
A: No, the Power Dome EX Compact Generator does not come with extra batteries.

Q: How does it feel about water? I'm thinking about using it for a small electric trolling motor in my boat.
A: While a bit of water splashed onto the PowerDome is not likely to hurt it, not all of its ports are protected from the water. You should avoid submersion or excess water. Also, make sure the motor consumes no more than 400 watts if you do connect it to the trolling motor.

Q: Many jump boxes with air compressors have a limited continuous run time of ~10 mins. Does the Power Dome EX have any run time limits?
A: The Power Dome EX Compact Generator has a run time limit of about 1 hour for the air compressor.

Q: It has 600 amps of cranking power. How much of peak power does it have?
A: The Power Dome has an 800-watt peak surge. Its sustained wattage is 400.

Q: Most of the portable units, like this one, are only capable of jump-starting of just moderately discharged batteries. How about this one? Is it capable of jump-starting of completely depleted battery
A: It can jumpstart a car to get electricity to the battery, but it cannot bring a dead battery back to life. It would take a long time to give charge to a completely dead battery, and the battery may or may not hold the charge.

Q: Can I use my 1500 watts rice cooker with this if storm causes power to go out?
A: No, the Power Dome could not power a 1500-watt rice cooker. The Power Dome has a 400-watt inverter.

Q: Will this power dome run a blender for crushing ice or mixing a milkshake. Thanks, Julie
A: As long as the blender is 400 watts or less.

Q: i'd like to know if this product will run a coffee maker, toaster, and small tv, not all at once. and if so, how long would the charge hold. these are l20w. i'm have trouble finding one.
A: Assuming the battery is fully charged and new, and the AC load is continuous, a 120-watt appliance should operate for 40 minutes. If the appliance cycles on and off, then the run time will be longer. As the battery ages, the run time will gradually decline even though the battery is fully charged.

Q: can it be piggy packed with a regular car battery for longer run times, as you would a power source in a rv, or small sailboat? Can it be charged by the cable wires via a car battery?
A: It can be charged by the car with the DC adapter. You would need to plug it into the cigarette lighter.

Q: Can you use the battery jumper cables with an external battery for longer run times, and can you charge it with the battery jumper cables?
A: The battery jumper cables do not have a reverse system on them, so you cannot charge the Power Dome with the jumper cables; it will blow out the fuse. If you wanted the Power Dome to run while being charged, you would have to use the cigarette lighter or the DC cable at the same time while powering it. However, the manufacturer does not recommend this because it might have an effect on the battery.

Q: can you charge your laptop when you are charging it?
A: Yes, you can charge a device while charging the Power Dome EX Compact Generator. However, the manufacturer does not recommend doing this since it could have an effect on the battery.

Q: Hi, how long will this run 2 60Hz fans? Also, how long will it take to recharge this unit? Thanks, MJH
A: We need to know the wattage of the 2 fans in order to answer your first question. The time it takes to recharge after use will depend on how much the charge is depleted. For the first time use, charge the Power Dome for 36-48 hours. Every 3-6 months you need to charge the Power Dome again for at least 24 hours.

Q: Can I charge this with a solar battery charger using a DC plug?
A: If your DC charging cable is plugged into the solar battery charger it should be able to work. However, our manufacturer can't determine how long it will take to charge it or guarantee how sustainable the charge will be.
