Overview

The AutoLoader Auto-Loading Multi-Bit Screwdriver is a must-have in any home or office. Not only is it a 6-in-1 screwdriver, but you can magically switch between the bits in under two seconds!

Here's how the pump-action bit-switch works: extend the handle, twist to select a new bit, and then close the handle. Like magic, the desired bit is revealed and ready for action.

Perfect for the utility (aka "junk") drawer, the AutoLoader comes preloaded with six industrial strength magnetic bits. Available in two sizes: Classic and Precision.

For people who like:

Switch bits in under two seconds!

The AutoLoader is the perfect "around-the-house" screwdriver. It comes preloaded with six common bits (three Phillips and three slotted) which you can switch between using the AutoLoader's patented pump action.

Here's how simple it is to switch bits: extend the handle, twist it so that the bit you want lines up with the arrow on the handle, and then close it. Bam! New bit loaded!

AutoLoader Auto-Loading Multi-Bit Screwdriver step-by-step instructions.
Switching bits takes about two seconds.
Here's how it works: extend the handle, twist to the desired bit, then close the handle.

Included bits are securely stored in see-through chamber

When you extend the AutoLoader's handle, you will reveal the see-through plastic chamber. This chamber houses the six industrial grade magnetic driver bits that are included with every AutoLoader.

By storing the bits inside the unit itself, you have no fear of losing them. And unlike other clumsy multi-bit screwdrivers, switching bits is super-fast and easy.

All six driver bits are stored inside the see-through plastic chamber.
The AutoLoader securely houses six bits inside its see-through plastic chamber.

Magnetic tip = fewer dropped screws

We all know how annoying it can be when you drop a screw from a ladder. The magnetic bits included with the AutoLoader are a lifesaver when working in tight spaces or from awkward positions.

The six industrial strength bits included with every AutoLoader are magnetic.
The AutoLoader's magnetized bits come in handy when working in tight areas or with vertical surfaces.

Customize your selection of bits

Every AutoLoader comes preloaded with six industrial grade magnetic bits. But, feel free to load your multi-bit screwdriver with any six bits you desire. Perhaps you need six different sizes of Phillips bits. That's not a problem with the AutoLoader.

You can load new bits into the AutoLoader in a matter of seconds. Pull out the unwanted bit (it'll take a little tug to overcome the magnetic attraction), drop in the new bit, and cycle the driver to the next bit you want to replace. Simple!

You can load the AutoLoader Auto-Loading Multi-Bit Screwdriver with any six bits you wish.
Customize the bits in your AutoLoader by dropping in any standard magnetic hex bit.

Choose from two styles

The AutoLoader is available in two sizes: Precision and Classic.

The Precision AutoLoader is designed for smaller applications such as eyeglass, watch, and jewelry repair. It includes the following six bits: Phillips 000, 00, 0, and Slotted 3/32", 1/8", 5/32".

The Classic AutoLoader is your standard "general purpose" screwdriver. It'll handle most household applications and includes the following six bits: Phillips 1, 2, 3, and Slotted 1/4", 3/16", 1/8".

The AutoLoader is available in two styles: Precision and Classic.

Burning Questions: You Ask and We Answer

Burning Questions: You ask and we answer!
Your questions that have been answered by the Vat19.com staff:
Does the screwdriver ratchet or is it just a fixed head?
No, the screwdriver does not ratchet. It is a fixed head. Although a racheting option may be available in the future!
Is it motorized?
The AutoLoader is not motorized. It runs on good old fashioned elbow grease.
Does the precision screwdriver come with a triwing screwdriver?
Sorry, but it does not. The included bits and sizes can be found at the top of the page in the "Features and Specs" section.
Could I use it to assemble flat-packed furniture from IKEA?
Of course! I have to admit though, I was under the impression that Ikea furniture could be assembled with only an alan wrench and some twine.
why did the arrow-head in the bit selector match the color of the handle?,cause thats gonna make the arrow head harder to see.
It's right above the logo (which is easily visible) and is raised, so you can feel it as well. It's not as difficult to see as you may think. It's one of those things that's a bit more difficult to photograph than to see in real life.
What happened at the airport (mentioned in the vid)?
We're not sure... but it sounds suspiciously like the opening to Home Alone 2. Wow, Macaulay Culkin sure has aged well!
Do you think it would make a good fathers day gift?
Yes, definitely!
Feel a bit silly asking this, but when selecting a bit, can it be twisted in both directions, or just the one?
Yes, it can be twisted in either direction. This means that if you accidentally miss the bit you need, you don't need to make another full rotation to get back to it.
Could I use it to pry open the lid on a paint can?
Absolutely. I think that opening paint cans is probably the second most common use for a screwdriver.
Am I blind or something? I can't see the arrow. :(
It's there, blended into the black handle. It's most visible on the main photo. On the handle you'll see what appears to be a circular button. The arrow is above that.
Is it made in USA ?
They are made in Canada.
Is this tool good for electrical work as well?
The handle is made of rubber and plastic, so it will not conduct electricity. This means that it is safe to use with computers, small electronics, and other electronic hobbies.
ok (in the video)about sneezing when somones talking to you. What does that have to do with the screw driver
Little, except that it's awkward, much like trying to work with screwdriver with a non-magnetic bit.
Does this screwdriver offer a warranty?
Yes, it does come with a no-time-limit guarantee from the manufacturer!
Can you use the flathead bit as a bottle opener?
Probably. A skilled hand can open a bottle with just about anything.
What is the weight of the tool with bits inside? How long are bits? is there more space to insert more bits?
The entire device weighs 7.5 ounces, so it's not too heavy at all. You cannot insert more bits, however you can remove the existing bits and install your own as long as they're the same size and length (1 inch).
does the classic version only have the large bits, does it come with some smaller and precise ones?
No. The only bit that is present in both is the slotted 1/8" bit. We show which bits are included in the "Features and Specs" portion of the description located at the top of the page.
I got a bit wedge in mechanism in open position. It’s visible with tip up at 45 degrees. Nothing will move. Help
A jammed bit can usually be freed by retracting the loading mechanism and applying a little bit of "percussive maintenance" to free the bit. If you're still having trouble, contact us here with your order ID number and we'll be happy to assist!
Can you use different bits?
Yep! You can load any standard hex bit into the AutoLoader.
Hi,which size of this screwdriver can for computer case?Classic size looks too big for it.
They'll both work, however the precision might be a little easier to use. Actually, you just reminded me how grateful I am that most new computer cases don't use screws. There's nothing worse than cutting your knuckle on the chassis of a computer tower.
on the 2 AutoLoader AutoLoading Multi-Bit Screwdrivers-2873 and 2874,when you change bits, where does the old bit go?on each screwdriver, you show a blue collar around the metal shaft.does this blue collar rotate freely when you are screwing in a screw
The extra bits are stored in a chamber in the handle of the AutoLoader. The blue collar moves independently from the screwdriver, so you can hold onto it and turn the screwdriver without having to release and re-grip.
What Types Of Screwdriver Bits are included?
We do have what is included listed above! Dimensions (Classic): 7.5" x 1.5" diameter Dimensions (Precision): 5.5" x 1.0" diameter Included bits (Classic): Phillips 1, 2, 3, Slotted 1/4", 3/16", 1/8" Included bits (Precision): Phillips 000, 00, 0, Slotted 3/32", 1/8", 5/32"
Can I get hex or slotted bits?
We're sorry, but we are unable to offer different bits.
Are the extra bits included magnetic to screws as well?
They are! In fact, we have a section on the product page which mentions this.
do you need batteries 4 it?
Nope, no batteries necessary. It's not electric.
will it work for my skate bored
I'm not quite sure what types of screws are on a skateboard. The AutoLoader comes with Phillips and flathead screws. You can also switch those out and load it with other bits to customize the screwdriver to your needs.
Will there be additional bit sets available? Can you buy one driver but both bit sets? Great product!!
I'm sorry, but bits are not sold separately, and we have no plans to offer this option. However, you can load the AutoLoader with whatever magnetic hex bits you have lying around in your toolbox. The Classic AutoLoader holds any standard 1" x 1/4" insert bit, and the Precision holds any 1"- 1 1/8" x 5/32" insert bit.
How durable is this screwdriver, is the mechanism that changes bits going to break two days after I get this?
Certainly not. It's solid and well-constructed.
This is so cool!!!! I might just go blind!
The AutoLoader will not make you go blind, thank goodness.
Do you think my dad will like it as a father's day gift?
Most definitely! It's an awesome Father's Day gift.
Is the precision the recommended Autoloader for PC building?
It's a smaller tool for smaller devices, so yes, that would make sense.
Can you purchase a set of bits separately?
No, the bits are not sold separately.
Do you also have one that carries Torx bits?
Not in this style. Sorry!
Can you dissassemble it? If you do, how to assemble it? P.s. I accidently did
The AutoLoader is not meant to be disassembled.
Hi, is it still Rick? If it is, hi, Rick! So is the precision size the same shape as the classic, but smaller?
That's the long and short of it!
Can you use it to unscrew the heat sink casing from a Dell 780?
I don't have one to test for you, but the images I found on Google of that part seem to indicate that it's held in place with regular Phillips screws, so the AutoLoader should work just fine.
Can I replace any of the preloaded bits with ones I currently own?
Possibly, but we can't guarantee that the bits you already possess will fit in the AutoLoader.
Can I use this for my computer case? I'm worried because of the magnetic nature of the bits.
The AutoLoader is perfectly safe to use on computers. The real danger when it comes to working on PCs is static discharge.
what kind of warranty does this have?
The manufacturer offers a no time limit guarantee against defects in workmanship and materials. It is not guaranteed against wear, breakage, or misuse. The guarantee does not include the screwdriver bits.
Would be awesome if you guys could add a ratcheting feature to the screwdrivers. Any plans?
No, not at this time. Sorry!
When is the video going to be up? It would really help me understand how this product works and wether I would like to buy it or not
We are working on the video now and hope to have it up soon. Stay tuned!
There's a bit stuck in the barrel of my AutoLoader Precision. How can I get it out?
We would recommend using percussive maintenance. That may dislodge the bit and allow it to fall back into the correct position.
How do I remove the bit?
The bits are held in place at the end of the AutoLoader with a magnet. If you need to remove or replace a bit, simply pull the bit out with your hand once it has been "loaded" onto the end of the screwdriver.
Do you have UK agents from whom I can order?
We're afraid not. We're a relatively small, family-owned business in the US. We do not have multiple distribution facilities or international franchises.
My only concern is that it may not be very strong... will it hold up over the years? Like that of regular screw driver?
That will depend entirely on how well you take care of your tools. We have an AutoLoader which we've been using in the studio to build sets with for years and haven't had any problems.
How durable is this tool, is there a warranty?
Incredibly durable! The manufacturer offers a no time limit guarantee against defects in workmanship and materials. It is not guaranteed against wear, breakage, or misuse. The guarantee does not include the screwdriver bits.
Hey, I just needed to know what can the Classic work on that the Precision cannot?
The Precision model was designed with small, cramped spaces in mind. A few examples would be the insides of computers, small electronics, or the electronics underneath the dashboard of your car.
Lets be realistic here, how long will this screwdriver last? I've been thru several different brands and variations of styles, and the mechanical parts seem to fail after only a few uses. Honestly, what is the time range I can expect this to last?
There isn't a specific lifespan or "expiration date" one can give for a tool. With proper care and use, there is no reason why the screwdriver shouldn't work indefinitely. Also, the manufacturer offers a lifetime warranty, so even if it DOES fail as a result of a defect they'll hook you up with a replacement. For what it's worth, I purchased an almost identical screwdriver in high school 15 years ago that I still use all the time.
Hi, will these bits work in the UK? cause the bits may be different in the UK than the US.
We don't see why not. Most common screws are fairly universal for a reason. The only difference may be the units of measurement.
I happen to destroy a lot of screwdrivers because of their heads rolling over the screw and the bits getting worn down. How long does the industrial strength heads last compared to other screwdriver heads?
Let's put it this way: in the several years we've been selling this product, we've had no complaints about the bits wearing down. I think that you're more likely to strip the screw before wearing down the bit.
how much strength i could apply to this without breaking it? like, if i apply much strengh when screwing could it break?
You'd strip the screw long before you broke the screwdriver.
Does this have an instruction guide included? I want to get this for my grandfather since he is an engineer and he STILL does draft and build things.
All of the necessary instructions are included and are very easy to follow.
Are there anyother place we can buy the screw driver as in hard ware stroies or places as Lowe's or Home Depot .
We aren't aware of any other retailers who might carry the AutoLoader, but you're always welcome to order directly from us!
What size hex bits are used for the precision version? It doesnt appear they are standard 1/4 inch like the Classic version.
The Precision is able to hold any 1"- 1 1/8" x 5/32" insert bit.
Does this screwdriver have a ratchet mechanism?
No, it does not.
why are you selling these things
Because they're handy as heck!
will there be a video? ps this website is awesome
Yes, there will be a video. And thanks!
first and thats a very cool invention
Glad you think so!
Can I order them with Torx style bits?
Sorry, but additional bits besides the six (6) that come with the AutoLoader (3 Phillips and 3 slotted) are not available. However, I'm sure you can get Torx bits at any hardware store and insert those into the AutoLoader for quick access. The Classic AutoLoader holds any standard 1" x 1/4" insert bit, and the Precision holds any 1"- 1 1/8" x 5/32" insert bit.
Is handle insulated?
Absolutely. The AutoLoader is perfectly safe to use with electronics.
What is the warranty on these products. I want to be both for my father and I was wondering if it had a lifetime warranty like Craftsman, or if there is no warranty at all. Maybe a year? Thanks!
The manufacturer offers a no time limit guarantee against defects in workmanship and materials. It is not guaranteed against wear, breakage, or misuse. The guarantee does not include the screwdriver bits.
what's the diff with classic and precision?
The Classic includes bigger bits that can be used for all sorts of standard household applications. The Precision has much smaller, more precise bits that you would use when you have to deal with tiny screws (like on a pair of eyeglasses or a watch).
Does the precision work with both desktops and laptop screws? It's ok if you don't know Jamie. Btw, you guys are great packers. :D
Obviously it depends on the type of screws and brand of laptop, but there's a fairly good chance that it will since most computer parts are relatively standard these days.
They say its six but which six screwdrivers do it have?
The included bits are listed at the very top of the page under the "Features & Specs" section.
Is there a discount price if you buy both items?
Sorry, but we do not offer a discount for purchasing both.
does it come in any other colors and are screws included? P.S. i want both of these and i wanna throw them in the air once i get them.
No, the AutoLoader does not come in other colors. Six bits are included with each screwdriver.
video?
Yes, we are making a video.
Does the free shipping over 125 work in brazil too?
I'm sorry, but the free shipping offer only applies to orders within the United States.
Guys you forgot to say that you can hold the screwdriver by the blue area and it can spin without having to release and regrip!!!
You're right! That is an excellent feature.
Can I add differdnt bits, like Torx?
The bits cannot be replaced with different bits.
Do the bits have to be magnetic?
We don't have a non-magnetic option for the bits. If you're worried about your electronics, I can assure you that the magnets are nowhere near strong enough to damage them.
can i get this in green? I LOVE U!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, but the AutoLoader is only available in the blue/black color combo you see here.
I was going to buy insta-buy this until I saw that it used magnetic bits. I can't use this for my computer work. Will the maker consider introducing a non-magnetic version?
Sorry, we do not have a non-magnetic version of the AutoLoader Screwdrivers.
YAY!!! NO MORE LOST BITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yay!
Is the Precision portable? Like can I take it for like on-the-go repairs?
Technically speaking they're both portable. The Precision is a little smaller and has smaller bits for working in tight spots, making it ideal for people who work on electronics or build computers.
What's a hex bit?
A hex bit has a hexagonal (6-sided) base.
When not using the tool does the 6th bit store inside it, so it won't fall off of the screwdriver?
No, if you keep all six bits in the screwdriver, one will always be "loaded". That is, unless you extend the handle and store it that way.
AWESOME :D this will definitely help me:D
Yep, it's very helpful.
Is there a video??? haha! Just kidding. This looks sweet. I'll be ordering it!
Yes, there will be a video. We're working on it right now!
