Share your music with your friends...and enemies!

Inspired by a LEGO brick, the iPod Building Block Speaker is a miniature set of stereo speakers featuring an iPod Dock connector.  This means it's compatible with almost any iPod that uses a Dock connector.  Just put your iPod on top of the speaker and hit 'Play'.  No batteries are required to turn your iPod into a miniature, portable boom box.

iPod Portable Speakers look like Lego building blocks
Simply "dock" your iPod on the LEGO-esque building block speaker and enjoy your tunes.

Compatible with any iPod featuring a Dock connector*

If you can hook up your iPod to your computer by "docking" it, the iPod Building Block Speaker will work with your iPod.

*However, if your iPod has a built-in speaker (newer versions of iPod Touch, we're looking in your direction), the iPod Building Block speaker will not work with it.  So, if you can listen to music on your iPod without inserting headphones or hooking it up to a speaker, then your iPod has a built-in speaker and the iPod Building Block Speaker will not work with it.

iPod Lego Speakers are compatible with all docking ipods
We've done our best to keep buying the latest iPods and thankfully
the docking connector has stayed the same through all these years.

No batteries required

The iPod Building Block Speaker doesn't require any batteries.  It uses a small amount of power from your iPod to drive its stereo speakers.  Use the concealed volume buttons on the front of the block to adjust the number of people you want to annoy while blasting Danzig at Starbucks.

Q: Will this product work with the newest (4th generation) iPod Nano? Thanks.
A: Yes. Any iPod that features the "dock" connector is compatible with the iPod Building Block Speaker.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Can I buy a bunch of these lego ipod docks and stack them together to build one HUGE lego ipod dock?
A: The iPod Building Block Speaker certainly looks like a LEGO, but it is not an actual LEGO brick. You cannot connect them together.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Why won't this dock work with the iPod Touch 2nd Generation? The first en the second generation have both the same input (dock connector)? So why won't it work with the iPod Touch 2nd Generation?
A: We don't know exactly why, but it has to do with the fact that the iPod Touch 2nd Generation has a built-in speaker.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: is this speaker better than the 2nd generation iTouch built in Speaker?
A: The iPod Building Block Speaker, in our opinion, sounds a little better than the built-in speaker on the 2nd generation iPod Touch. It can also get louder than the built-in iPod Touch speaker. As a reminder, the iPod Building Block Speaker does not work with the 2nd generation iPod Touch.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: does the speaker work with app music for the iTouch?
A: If you have a newer version of the iPod Touch that has a built-in speaker, the iPod Building Block Speaker will not work with it.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Does it work with a Zune?
A: Sorry, but the Building Block Speakers are only compatible with iPods.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: I was wondering does it charge the ipod?? :]
A: No, the iPod Building Block Speaker only acts as a speaker and will not charge your iPod.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Do you know if there are any places in Perth Australia that stock this gadget? thanks
A: We are not aware of any brick-and-mortar stores in Perth, Australia that carry the iPod Building Block Speaker. However, we do ship worldwide!
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Is this compatible with the I touch
A: Yes, the iPod Building Block Speaker is compatible with the iPod Touch.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: does this product recharge my ipod?
A: It does not charge your iPod.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: does the black colored speaker match the color of the iPod Touch because i dont want it to be that obvious that i have a speaker?
A: While not an exact match, they are extremely close in color. Keep in mind that if your iPod Touch has a built-in speaker, the iPod Building Block Speaker will not work with it.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Will this work with Apple 4th Generation 8GB iPod Nano?
A: If the iPod has a dock connector, then it will work.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Just to confirm - does this work with the 3G iPhone also? (You say iPods, but the pic is hard to tell if it's the iPhone or the Touch)
A: No, the iPod building block speaker does not work with an iPhone. Also, an iPhone has a built-in speaker. The building block speaker works with all other iPod models including the iPod Touch (provided that the iPod Touch doesn't have a built-in speaker).
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: so any thoughts about updating this to the ipod shuffle?
A: Since the iPod Shuffle doesn't have a dock connector, it would have to connect to the Building Block Speaker via a phono jack. We have not heard of any plans from the manufacturer to do this.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Is this item compatible with the Sansa Fuze mp3 player?
A: Sorry, but the Building Block Speakers are only compatible with iPods.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Is this mini ipod speaker made from a real LEGO?
A: By looking at this portable iPod speaker, the name could be LEGO iPod Speaker, but this is not a real LEGO or manufactured by the LEGO brand. So, it is called iPod Building Block Speaker!
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Will it work with Ipod model MA005LL? Is it loud enough to do bird calls outdoors?
A: I believe that model number refers to the 1st generation iPod Nano, and the Building Block Speaker should work just fine with that. As long as your iPod does not have its own built-in speakers, the Building Block Speaker should be compatible. As for the bird calls, we think the speaker might be loud enough in a very quiet setting. You can watch our product video to hear a sample of the audio. In our experience, the Building Block Speaker can get louder than built-in iPod speakers. Unfortunately, we do not have a decibel rating to offer.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: What about the iphone ?!?!
A: The iPhone has a built-in speaker and therefore the iPod Building Block Speaker is not compatible with it.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Hey, umm i was wondering, if i buy one, but i wanna listen to my ipod with my earphones, can i leave the speaker in the ipod aswell as the headphones?
A: No, you would have to remove the Building Block Speaker if you wanted to listen to your iPod with headphones.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: If this mamajama is so light, perhaps you would reccomend not having the iPod standing upstraight on the device, because it could get all broked it fell over, right?
A: It stands up just fine as long as it is on a smooth and solid surface, like a table. In more unstable conditions, like your car, for example, you're right - it's probably best to lay it down rather that stand it up straight.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Does the portable iPod speaker only work with music, or can you hear the sound with apps, and/or can you listen to sample music on iTunes? Or can you just listen through the speaker only with music?
A: If the sound/music can be heard through headphones, it can also be heard through the iPod Building Block Speaker.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: I see above that you say it uses a small amount of power from my iPod to drive the speakers. Does that mean that this recharges the speaker when you use it? I'm concerned about it "running down".
A: The iPod Building Block Speaker does not have a battery inside of it, so there is no fear of it "running down".
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: do you have any more colors
A: We carry the Ipod Building Block speaker in black, blue, white and red.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: why so expensive?
A: Having a small and portable iPod speaker that looks like a LEGO is totally worth the price! The iPod Building Block Speaker is small enough to carry in your pocket, thus it is possible to blast your playlist anywhere you want. That, my friend, is priceless.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: will this work on the nano 5th Gen?
A: The Nano 5th Gen has a built-in speaker, so no, the Building Block Speaker will not work with it.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: if it doesn't take batteries, how does it work?
A: The Building Block Speaker uses a small amount of power from your iPod to drive its stereo speakers.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: are the speakers available in Brisbane, Australia? If so, at what stores?
A: We're not aware of any stores in Australia that carry the iPod Building Block Speaker. However, we do ship worldwide, so we can certainly get one to you!
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

A: No. The iPod Shuffle does not have a dock connector.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Will a Samsung YP-K3 be comapatable with the building block speaker?
A: Unfortunately no, only iPods with a docking port will work with the Building Block Speaker. Please note that newer iPod generations with built-in speakers are not compatible with the speaker.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Although it doesn't have underside holes like a real LEGO. Can you build/put legos ON TOP of it?
A: No, actual LEGO bricks will not interlock with the iPod Building Block Speaker.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: have you ever tried playing games on iTouch 1st gen with speaker? If so was it hard because that's all i want it for
A: The speaker is about the same width as the iTouch, so it wouldn't be sticking out on the sides, and it only adds 0.5" to the bottom, so you should still be able to hold it in your hands and reach the buttons easily.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Is the speaker big and bulky on the iTouch since it is 8mm thin?
A: While the iPod Building Block Speaker may be thicker than the iPod Touch, we certainly wouldn't consider it bulky. It's only the size of your standard LEGO (2.3" x .5" x .5"), so it's small enough to look good with the thinner iPods like the Touch.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: will you make a video of app music with the ipod building block speaker?
A: There are currently no plans to make another video featuring the iPod Building Block Speaker with app music. But rest assured that any thing you can hear on your iPod through earphones can also be heard through the speaker.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: if i have a 1st generation iTouch will the speaker work with the app music?
A: This speaker will work with any iPod that has a docking port and does not have its own built-in speaker (newer versions of the iTouch have their own speakers built in, and are therefore not compatible with the iPod Building Block Speaker). If you can hear the app music through headphones, you should also be able to hear it through the iPod Building Block Speaker.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: does it work with the small shuffle ipod?
A: No. The iPod Building Block Speaker only works with iPods that have a dock connector. The iPod Shuffle does not have a dock connector.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Do they make speakers like this for ipods that aren't like legos?
A: The only iPod speaker we carry is the Building Block Speaker you see here, and it is awesome. Why would you want anything else?
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: How loud does the speaker go ?
A: We do not have a decibel rating for the speaker.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

A: About 30% more power is taken from iPod than when using headphones.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: Ok so everyone is asking if it works with their mp3 player... HOO CARES??!?! The real awesome question to ask is: DOES IT WORK WITH REAL LEGOS??!?!??
A: No, the iPod Building Block Speaker cannot interlock with real LEGOs.
Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

A: The manufacturer can't provide the specific reason why the iPods with built-in speakers will not work with the Building Block Speaker, and, unfortunately, there are workarounds.

Was this question useful to you? Yes | No

Q: hi there, could you give specifications of the wattage or amplitude or voltage? thanks so much.

Was this question useful to you? Yes | No
