A: You can't. You can, however, tape two Smencils together to enjoy awesome new scent combinations. Try watermelon and bubble gum to get bubblemelon. Or orange and cherry for...orange-cherry.

A: We do not sell Smencils individually. They are only available in packs of 10.

A: The old newspapers that are used to create the Smencils are first disinfected and then soaked in fragrance.

A: We're sure that someone out there is selling Smencils Scented Pencils in a brick and mortar store, but we don't know of any specific locations.

Q: Since they smell like oranges, they might mislead my small nephew to eat them. How do I tell him that the smencil cannot be eaten, in a nice way?
A: Easy. Just let him try it (under close adult supervision, of course). It's not likely that he'll try again any time soon.

Q: Made in China, huh? So how many Smencils would you need to eat to get a raging case of lead poisoning?
A: To the best of our knowledge, there is no lead in the Smencils (not even in the "lead" of the pencil, because it's graphite). As an added note, though, the Smencils do not taste good at all. Trust me when I say that no sane person would want to eat even 1 Smencil.

Q: Can you unscroll the newspaper around the smencils to read them?also paper nowadays are not made out of trees.
A: While the Smencils do seem to have some kind of adhesive to make the paper stay rolled, you could probably pick at it and get it to come undone. You couldn't really read it, though, as the paper is recycled and cleaned and thus free of any words.

Q: Depending on what site we look at, the list of "flavors" is different. So, please confirm exactly what flavors your pencils come in!
A: Our Smencils 10-packs include the following flavors: Chocolate, Orange, Cinnamon, Cotton Candy, Grape, Watermelon, Tropical Blast, Root beer, Very Berry, and Bubble Gum.

Q: Do you pick the Smencils randomly?
A: No, you get one Smencil of each of the 10 scents listed on the page.

Q: hi,how much newspaper do u use in one smencil
A: It doesn't take very much newspaper to make only one Smencil. According to the manufacturer, 430 newspapers will make 172,000 Smencils.

Q: Do the smells wear off?
A: From what we've been told, the scent lasts for two years.

Q: can I go to your store and but a smencil or do i just order it online?
A: If you're in the St. Louis area, you're quite welcome to stop by and pick up your Smencils. Otherwise, it's probably easiest to order online.

Q: do you have a pack o 10 smencils with watermlen and pineapple ?
A: Our Smencils 10-pack currently includes Watermelon, but it does not include Pineapple. I guess 1 for 2 ain't bad, right?

Q: Can you buy 10 smencils just in one scent or do you have to get a variety?
A: Smencils are packaged in the sets of ten as described on the page. Unfortunately, we cannot break them apart to sell you ten Smencils of any one scent.

A: No. The listed price is for a 10-pack of Smencils.

Q: Do you give a sample pencil?
A: We don't offer sample Smencils, but you're welcome to return the product for a refund (minus the cost of shipping) if you're unsatisfied.

Q: can u make these bye taking a pencile and wraping it in news paper
A: No. The Smencils themselves are made of recycled newspaper, but wrapping regular pencils in newspaper would just give you a fat pencil that gets your hands black from ink.

Q: I am allergic to smencils. What do you think are in your product that causes my reactions.
A: To give Smencils their scent, they are soaked in high-quality fragrance oils. It's likely that you are sensitive to those oils.

Q: Do Smencils erase like ordinary pencils? My kids do a lot of erasing. :)
A: Smencils Gourmet Scented Pencils have an eraser like most other pencils, however, as with any heavy erasing, having a back-up block eraser is always helpful.

A: Hanging out in the Vat19 warehouse, the Smencils have a tendency to bond with one another. For that reason, we only sell them in packs of 10 for $9.95. That means that each one costs 99.5 cents plus shipping, although you'll have to get a full set of 10 to take advantage of that fantastic (and fragrant) deal.

Q: were can i get a new kind of smencil online like pop corn or hamburger
A: The popcorn scent has been discontinued, and as far as we know, there are no plans for a hamburger scent.

Q: Is the Plastic Tube Recycleable? Does it have a Recycle emblem embossed on it?
A: The plastic Smencil tubes can be recycled. The plastic tube itself does not have the recycle emblem embossed on it, but there is a recycle emblem on the label.

Q: are there other smencil flavors?
A: There have been other scents in the past, but the scents you see above are the only Smencils scents we have currently available.

Q: i got a peppermint one, how come that isnt on the list?
A: The 10 fragrances above are what we currently carry. In the past, a number of other scents have been offered. Those other fragrances may still be offered elsewhere.
