Super-thin bottle opener will always be there when you need it

The KeyTool Bottle Opener + Multi-Tool is like an "awesome sheath" for a standard house key. It fits around your key like a glove and offers instant beverage-opening at a moment's notice.

The clever design uses the length of your house key for added leverage in popping caps.

The KeyTool is primarily a bottle opener.
The KeyTool is a bottle opener and multi-tool.

McGyver wishes he had one of these bottle opener multi-tools

The primary (and arguably most important) function of the KeyTool is to open beer. Everything else is just icing on the cake. And when it comes to the KeyTool, the icing is pretty darned delicious.

In addition to a bottle opener, the KeyTool features three sizes of flathead screwdrivers: small, medium, and large. There's also a nail file, cutter, and a pair of tweezers.

In addition to being a bottle opener, the KeyTool features six additional handy tools.
The KeyTool features three sizes of screwdriver, a bottle opener, nail file, cutter, and pair of tweezers.

Barely thicker than your key

We love the KeyTool because it's just so darned small. You'll hardly notice it in your pocket because it will only add 2mm (0.08") of thickness to a standard house key.

To use the tool (or access your key) simply rotate the KeyTool 180°. If you're worried that this will be too annoying every time you want to use your key, we pose this question: Won't your teeth thank you the next time you have to open a beer? Additionally, we suggest you keep the KeyTool on one of your less-used keys like the one to your locker at the gym.

The stainless steel KeyTool is barely thicker than your key.
At less than a tenth-of-an-inch thick, the KeyTool is hardly noticeable in your pocket.

Three sizes of screwdriver for life's little emergencies

We'll admit that not every emergency revolves around a beer that needs opening. So, you'll find the three sizes of screwdriver on the KeyTool to be especially useful for things like eyeglass repair, accessing battery compartments, and opening a box (we've all tried this with a key and it's much easier with the KeyTool).

The KeyTool features a small screwdriver that is perfect for eyeglass repair.
The smallest of the KeyTool's screwdrivers is the perfect size for eyeglass repair.

In a pinch, you've got a pair of tweezers

You never have a set of tweezers when you need them, right? Not anymore! Remove a splinter, pluck an eyebrow, remove that stray gray hair, or simply grab something really tiny with the tweezers on the KeyTool.

The KeyTool features a pair of tweezers.
We find the pair of tweezers to be especially useful.

Fits nearly any standard size house key

The KeyTool is designed to fit around nearly any standard size house key. Its "base" (where the hole is located) is open on both ends so square, rounded, or diamond-shaped keys will fit.

The KeyTool fits nearly any standard house key.
The KeyTool fits over almost any standard house key.

Questions we think you're going to ask (aka FAQs)

Question: Can I still use my key with the KeyTool on?

Answer: Simply rotate the KeyTool off your key in order to use it. We suggest keeping the KeyTool on one of your lesser-used keys.

Question: How well does it work on opening bottles?

Answer: Incredibly well. The leverage created in concert with your key makes removing bottle caps a snap.

Question: Does this mean that using my teeth to open beer is obsolete?

Answer: Never! Just save the teeth move for when you really want to impress the ladies.

Where can I buy this awesomeness?

Burning Questions: You Ask and We Answer

Burning Questions: You ask and we answer!
Your questions that have been answered by the Vat19.com staff:
Your images constantly show it on the round gold key. Does it work as well (rotate, open bottles) on the far right key in your 3-key image above? Do you have any video of it working on that shaped key?
I just tested it on one of my keys that is similar in shape, and I could rotate the KeyTool off just fine. We don't have any actual video of the KeyTool rotating on that key shape.
Hi i want to know if you can send it to Buenos Aires Argentina !!! i realy want to have one !!!
Yes, we can ship to Argentina.
Oh my God!!!!! This is freaking awesome!!!! I am girl and I know that usually girls are not into tools. But hell! This is cool! It's easy to rotate the key in and out right?
We did not have any problems rotating the key out of the KeyTool.
Do you know if this would pass through TSA at the airport? Now that I can't carry a swiss army knife any more, this seems like a good alternative.
We believe the KeyTool will pass through airport security. However, we cannot guarantee it.
Does it break easily?
Not at all! You'd have to put the KeyTool in a vice and intentionally crush it. There's no way that you could easily break it.
Is the thread cutter sharp enough to cut through a seat belt?
Probably not. If that's what you're looking for, you should check out our BodyGard Emergency Tool.
Will they snap on to the key or just cover it?
The Keytool simply covers the key.
Can you still unlock doors with it on the key?
You will need to rotate the KeyTool off the key before you can unlock any doors with it. Don't worry; it's a quick movement.
WHY ARE YOU GUYS SO FRICKEN AMAZING!!! Does this keytool come with a keyring or clip or just by itself? What kind of packaging does it ship in?
Thanks! The Keytool is packaged in a plastic clamshell style case and comes with a clip included.
does it ship vith a keyring
Yes, the keyring is included.
Can you light a match by striking it against the nail file side of the key tool?
Only if it's a "strike anywhere" match.
The cutter looks like a seat-belt cutter. Do you think this tool is sharp and solid enough to rely on in an emergency for cutting a seat belt.
Honestly, no, as it's not meant for that application. For auto emergency situations, check out our BodyGard 5-in-1 rescue tool.
Does the tool come with the gold key in the picture?
No, a key is not included. You put the KeyTool on one of your keys. We don't think a key of ours would be very useful to you!
Do you need to take off the keytool to unlock your doors?
Yes. The KeyTool is not so slim that it can fit inside your door lock.
hi i just got one of these and they are awesome but will it ever come loose or flap about?
Not unless you've somehow managed to bend it in such a way that it no longer fits snugly on your key.
Will this work without a key? Or will it be more difficult to use?
A key isn't necessary to use the KeyTool.
Is this suitable for kids because I want one. Plus also is it allowed in school because I'm in the UK and my school wont let offensive weapons in.
The KeyTool isn't a weapon, but you may still want to clear it with your school's faculty before attempting to bring it in. There isn't a specific age requirement, but there are a few sharp points, so you will want to get your parents' permission.
Can the cutter tool be used for anything else?
In our experience, it's best used for things like tags on clothing or loose strands hanging from fabric.
this isn't a question but YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!!!!! Also this my favorite thing that you have made!
Thanks!!
Does this KeyTool come with any accessories like a sharpening tool, case or a cleaning cloth? P.S. If the faculty allows, is this tool appropriate for your keychain at school(for a locker)
Sorry, but there are no included accessories for the KeyTool.
What would you use the cutter tool for? I love your guys videos of all your products there great!! Thank your for the hour of laughter. :)
Cutting stray bits of string from your clothing, packing or duct tape, or any other situation where a sharp edge would be handy.
Do you need to side it off to use the key?
Yes. Your key will not fit in the lock while still inside the KeyTool.
Are you going to make a warehouse in Canada?
Sorry, but we do not have plans for any foreign distribution centers at this time.
Can the bottle opener feature open water bottles?
Water bottles are usually the screw off variety, not pry off.
Will I be able to bring this onto an airplane?
It's possible, however you may want to check ahead with airport security to avoid having it confiscated as you're boarding.
ummm.someone said that "this was the best thing YOU'VE ever MADE" but on youtube you guys told me that you only sell the product not make it. im confused!
The response on YouTube was correct. The only products on Vat19.com that we produced are the DVDs and CDs. We do not make any of the other products we sell.
How long does the file on it last?
We're not 100% sure, as it depends on how often you use it, and what you use it for.
Can this be used as a can opener as well?
The KeyTool might be helpful in opening the pull tab of a soda or beer can, but it is not designed to open canned food.
Why would you want to rotate the key, anyway? Would this be for some kind of "Workout" for your fingers, or what?
When we say "rotate the key", we mean to rotate it out of the KeyTool so that you can use it to open a door or locker.
How likely am I accidentally cut myself on the cutter?
Not very. Because it's recessed and the opening is small, you'd have to really try to get your finger in there to cut it.
Does it rust?
The KeyTool is made of stainless steel, so it is extremely resistent to rusting.
will this work with kinda square keys?p.s do u ship this to uk?
Yes. The top is open enough for most round and square keys.
will it work with my baldwin model?
I don't have a Baldwin key to test, however the "top" of the KeyTool is open so it should be able to fit almost any size or style housekey.
Do you need to put it over another key to keep it's shape or can you have it separate?
It's meant to be put over a key, but it's pretty strong, so I think it will be fine without it.
Is the KeyTool prone to warping or bending, due to it's flexibility shown in the tweezer demonstration?
We did not experience any issues with the KeyTool bending or warping, and we have not received any reports of such from customers.
The "nails" wording on the keytool does NOT refer to the nail file. "File" refers to the nail file. To what does nails refer?
Oops, our mistake. "Nails" refers to the little piece there that you can use to clean underneath your finger nails.
The keytool shows the word "nails," but your write up does not mention this feature. What is it?
That refers to the nail file on the KeyTool.
does it fit snugly, or is it lose on the key?
It fits snugly on most keys.
Keytool is TSA approved? I can carry keytool inside the plane?
We believe the KeyTool will pass through airport security. However, we cannot guarantee it.
My key that I use has a light in it. So the big part of it isn't the same thickness as the metal part. I'm guessing this won't work on the key right?
Right. The KeyTool will not fit properly if your key is bigger than a normal house key.
If i where to reach into my pocket, would this cut me when i grabbed my keys?
I doubt it. You'd have to be pretty reckless with the way you reach into your pocket for something like that to happen.
Can I use this to open milk cartons?
Maybe? I haven't tried honestly (nor would I know how).
Does this opener fit on European housekeys?
We haven't tested with any European housekeys, but from what I can tell they shouldn't have any problem.
Do you need to take the key tool off the key and the key chain to use the tweezers?
Yes. If you don't remove your key then it will be in the way of the tweezers.
Will it fit on Israel made key?
Presumably. There really isn't a whole lot of difference between keys from country to country. If your keys look anything like the ones shown in the photos above, then it's a safe bet that they'll fit in the KeyTool.
Does this work great with the Freekey ring?
Indeed it does!
Would it be possible to fit this over the keychain screwdriver set or is that too large?
The Keychain Screwdriver Set is much too large.
Can the curved blade cut you?
Not unless you intentionally stick your finger in it. Even then it would take quite a bit of effort to actually cut yourself.
Does the tool need to be over a key or can it be a stand alone item on my key ring?
It can stand alone on your key ring. It simply takes up less space if fitted to a key.
Is it ok to bring to school?
I don't see why not, but you may want to clear it with your school's faculty first.
If i take it to my school could it be considered a weapon?
We doubt it, but you may want to clear it with your school's faculty first.
It looks thin. It's probably going to break.
Oh ye of little faith! The KeyTool is actually very durable and will not bend, warp or break with normal use.
How durable is the bottle opener? Will it break after a lot of use?
The KeyTool is pretty darn durable; you should not have any problems with it bending or breaking on you.
im guessing you cant open a door while the keytool is on the key?
No, you'll have to rotate the KeyTool off the key.
Would this fit on the keysmart?
No it would not. Sorry!
I order 2 of these (One for me and one as a present), the cutter tool on my is misshapen and therefore not sharp (aka. doesn't cut.) Any way I can fix this?
Contact us with your order number and we will be happy to look into it for you!
Can you use this with the keysmart?
The Key Tool is fairly low profile, so it should fit just fine, though it might make accessing the key inside of it difficult. The additional loop is intended to hold larger or unusually shaped keys and devices.
Can the cut tool cut you?
Not unless you intentionally dig your finger into one of the pointier edges.
Do you have to place it over a key? :)
No, but that is what it is designed to do.
Does it break/bend easy because its only 1mm thick each side?
The KeyTool is pretty darn durable; you should not have any problems with it bending or breaking on you.
does the key tool wear down your key? by the way you guys are AWESOME!!!!!
Keys are pretty durable, being made of metal and all. I wouldn't worry about it.
How effective would you say the nail file is?
It's very effective at filing nails, but woefully ineffective at microsurgery.
can it rotate off by itself or does it rotate really hard and does it rust and does it scrach easely and vill the knife cut my pants
How tightly the KeyTool and how easily it rotates depends on the thickness of your key. It doesn't scratch too easily, and since the cutter part is recessed, it should not tear your pants. Since it is stainless steel, it should not rust easily, but it is not completely rust-proof. Your best bet is to keep it away from water.
Brilliant, exactly what I was looking for without knowing that was what I was looking for! But...ahh...do I want to know what's being held in those tweezers?
Don't worry, it's just a gigantic toothpick "splinter".
You said that you can use it for a pair of tweezers "in a pinch". Was that a pun or should you not use the tweezers very often?
It was definitely a pun, but the phrase "in a pinch" means to be done quickly or in lieu of having the proper tool.
Do the screwdrivers work for both standard and phillips?
Yes, but only as long as you're careful and the screw itself is not too big/small.
1st, in the picture showing the tweezers, what are the tweezers pinching? 2nd, would'nt it get annoying to always have to pull the key tool off the key ring just to use the tweezers?
1) A massive splinter that I would never want to find stuck in my skin. 2) It may get a tad annoying. The good thing is, you probably won't need the tweezers as often as the other tools.
Is it possible to use the tweezers without removing the KeyTool from the keyring?
Not really. The key would prevent them from closing all the way.
1) I notesed that mine said 'Nails' does this mean finger or hamer? 2)The plastic case it came in, is it water proof?
Fingernails. We do not believe that the case is waterproof.
Does that can opener offer enough leverage to easily pop caps, or is it a little tricky?
None of us have had any issues using the can opener. I wouldn't say it's tricky at all.
Can you use it to pry things open (for instance, paint can lids)?
The KeyTool can pry open bottle caps, but I can't say for sure whether or not it will fit on a paint can lid.
Other than opening beer bottles what other kinds of bottle can it open?
You can open any kind of bottle that has pry-off caps.
Is there a way to put my company logo on this?
Unfortunately we cannot provide this service. Perhaps there is a local company that could customize the product for you.
I bought this item from you guys, and I love it so much! The box is extremely useful! 5 stars+2 thumbs up=7 useful tools!
We're glad you liked it! Thank you again for your business!
Does it hurt when you use it?
Of course not. We're not going to sell you a product that intentionally harms you.
The file looks kinda tricky to use. Is it? P.s. you guys are so epic
Not any trickier than any other file.
can the screwdrivers work on Philips and flat head screws
If the philips was small enough, it would work.
Do you sell through any other retailers?
No, as we are retailers ourselves.
Does bottle openers open water bottles?
If they have pry off caps, sure!
1) Will it lose its ability to open bottles after so many uses? I ve had bottle openers and theyve only lasted months and afterwards you really have to try hard to open the bottle. 2)Will it start loosing its gray color or become rusty after uses?
The stainless steel KeyTool will hold up over many years of use and will not corrode or rust with normal use.
Do you wholesale?
We do not. Sorry!
Hi...why haven't you asked TSA about the KeyTool? thanks!
While the KeyTool has not officially been approved by the TSA, we have taken a look at their prohibited items and do not see why the KeyTool wouldn't be allowed on board. That being said, we cannot guarantee that it will pass through security.
will it work with mailbox keys? as they are smaller than house keys.
As long as the key isn't any thicker than a standard house key, the KeyTool should be able to fit.
Has the blade on it ever cut your pocket and does the inside ever wear down enough from repeated use to slide off of the key by itself?
We haven't cut our pockets, but it's not really in a place where that would be a problem. The inside shouldn't "wear down", but if it ever does become loose you can always give it a little pinch to tighten it again.
Does it come with the key?
No, you'll need your own key.
Will the small scewdriver work on every pair of glasses or just one pair??
It should work on a variety of eyeglasses that have those tiny little screws.
Will it fit on car keys?
It depends on the kind of car key you have. If your car key is the same width as an average house key, I would say yes.

Please excuse the shameless cross promotions!
