A: The pouch is about 5/8 inches deep and about 2 inches wide. You could definitely get a cloth down in there to wash it by hand. However, the Pouch Tea Mug is dishwasher safe.

Q: Are there small holes inside of the bottom of the tea bag holder so that when you drink you don't get the tea splashed back in your face? I have seen some like that & that is what I am looking for!
A: The Pouch Tea Mug does not have holes at the bottom of the "pouch" (tea bag holder). This way, you don't have to worry about drips and leaks! When drinking from the opposite side of the mug, a small amount of tea leaked from the tea bag should not spill out.
